Yes he has a lot of energy, and occasionally takes up some good positions, he even sometimes carries the ball a fair distance. However, his end product, decision making and control is woeful and so frustrating.

On Saturday, he must have wasted 3 or 4 excellent opportunities to put the game to bed.

I just hope we don't have too many injuries, really don't think he's up to the standard we need for this season.

Am I the only one to think this?

That's why he's not a starter I guess. Thought he did OK when he came on and had one decent effort saved but he shanked a couple when well placed. Not good enough for the first 11. Just about good enough for the bench with what we have.

I was shocked to see some people say he was MOTM when he came on v Peterborough. For me he was the reason we didn't win a bit more comfortably.

He's useful to have for the energy you even mentioned. We don't really have many players that are capable (yet) of high pressing like Wilder says he wants, for a full game at least - Scougall would be a good player to bring on to try and help with that side of the game. I don't believe he is much use in an attacking sense, though it's always good to have different options on the bench. I'm happy enough to have him in the squad.

Thought he made a big impact on the game, put Peterborough on the back foot a bit that eased the pressure on us

He was unlucky not to score, that shot had a wicked swerve on it, the keeper did well to read it.

He was wasteful but as stated above that should improve with more game time

This "game time" must be an infinite resource! Everybody wants everyone to have a slice.... :)

You are right about Scoogs though.

Scougal is a handy player to have in the squad, direct and just about pacey enough to ask defenders questions. His physical limitations will always work against him but he is still useful as an impact player. Most opponents won't want someone like him buzzing around at 80+ minutes when they are knackered so are more than likely to foul him and hand us a chance from a set piece. I think some refs may also realise that he needs a bit of protection, unlike the bellend who officiated the Bradford game a couple of seasons ago.

Funny, watched it back and I thought he offered a lot more than given credit.
He was crucial in keeping up that high tempo and pressure in their back line, reducing their time in the ball and rushing them.

Yes he could have made some better decisions in possession, but was unlucky not to score and I thought was a nuisance all game.
Hate to say it, but other than a couple of decent lay offs, Sharp probably contributed the least to the game overall from players who started, plus Scougall.

I think he helped make us more solid in the second half. I know he isn't strong enough but as others have said. Hes prepared to pick the ball up and have a go at the opposition. Hence putting his opposite number on the back foot, and took some of the pressure of the defence.I think will would have conceded if Wilder hadn't changed it at half time. At the end of the first half it looked a matter time before they scored.

That was the worst slam dunk I have ever seen. Funny though.

He is one of those players at the moment who needs game time, to improve his game and gain confidence, the problem is so do a lot more and not everyone can get the game time they need, partly because we are winning so long may it continue, one thing about scougal, who divides opionion is "things" happen when he is on the pitch,in a positive sense, juty still out and probably always will be.

Thought he did a good job yesterday.

Don't think he's nailed down a starting place yet as I think out wide isn't his best position but certiantly that energy and ball carrying off the bench can be an asset for us.

I'm sure he can push on and work his way into the first team

I think the starting line up is set in stone at the moment when they are fit. And rightly so.
They have earned a run of games.

I agree with all that apart from "hate to say it". Surely Billy is open to critical analysis in the same way as all the others?

How was he 'unlucky' not to score?

The thing with sharp though is one of those lay offs led to the match winning goal.

He's there to create and score goals, which he has done, all be it not directly this time, again.

It's good to get your slant on it.

To me, sharp and done look a decent partnership. They have shown that with their link up play, assists and understanding in the last few matches.

Think people may be underestimating the job sharp does in hassling the defenders and holding the ball up - done really isn't capable of doing that on his own. And his control and pass before the goal were very good indeed even if he was kept quiet overall.

We'll soon see how he links with Lavery too, but I'd think we would miss that presence up front if he wasn't in the side

I was hating to say it about Sharp because I seem to be at him a lot recently.

I just don't think he is doing enough. Scougall got slated for poor decisions, yet Sharp made many poor decisions again. And I keep saying it but his lack of Pace just doesn't work for me in this system, and the way Wilder wants them ALL to work.
If Lavery or Clarke can force game time I just hope the decision on who to make way is based on what they offer in the game. And for me, Done of the two offers far more.

That is all. Whatever happens, I think this will be Billy's last season at the club.

He did really well on Saturday. If an opposition player had come on as sub and played like that people would be saying gerrimsigned.
I think you have a bit of a blind spot with Scougs, 2nd touch is a tackle far too often which is a Pinchy cardinal sin I thought.

Energetic and harries really well, but on the ball and end product is far too inconsistent for me. I thought he was fairly poor on Saturday.
