Should've pasted an appalling Wimbledon team by 5 or 6, even allowing for the fact we never really got out of 2nd gear.

Ratings:

Moore 6.5 Did fine

Freeman. 6 Not sure what happened with the first Wimbledon goal. Still good going forward and more than good enough at this level IMO.

O Connell. 6. Did alright

Jake Wright. 6. Don't think he's that great but he talks. Doesn't win that much in the air and can see why he's never played above league 2 before.

EEL. 8. Excellent, very big and powerful and won loads in the air, made a big difference for us today.

Lafferty. 6. Meh, like last week really. Just looks incredibly mediocre but he's certisnly an improvement on the likes of Hussey. Played 2, won 2 as well.

Basham. 5. Just don't rate him. Endless times he had the ball in acres of space and it was screaming out for him to have a shot, but if any of you have ever seen him shoot from outside the box you'll know he's worse than most centre backs at it.

Coutts. 7. Playing well, looks happier in the middle.

Duffy. 7.5 Very good today and absolute class on the goal. Can see his quality and like Grayblade and others have pointed out, he's always trying to do something risky that might just open a defence.
Hit some brilliant balls today and I want to see him in a number 10 role in a 4-2-3-1/4-1-4-1 set up.

Sharp. 7. Not his best and 1 of his marks was for the goal but that's what he's there for. 4 goals for the season already and he's been in cruise control so far tbh. One of the best strikers in the league its as simple as that.

Done. 7.5 Worked hard, put in a great cross for Sharp on the second. Should've had at least a hat trick though.

Subs:

Fleck (came on at HT). 7. Good player and that middle three of Coutts, Fleck and Duffy gives us plenty of quality on the ball. Likes a challenge and talks which is something else we've needed badly.

Clarke. 5.5/10. Made a nuisance of himself but Christ did he blow a good chance to finish the game off. Expected better from an experienced 20 goal a season centre forward.

Scougall. 6/10 Worked hard as always but would've got a 7 if he'd have scored when through on goal. Duffy's a higher class of player with better vision and has a goal in him so can't see Scougs taking him place in the team

United: Beat probably the worst team I've seen in six years of this god forsaken league, but a wins a win.

Still maintain that I don't like this 3-5-2, we don't look any more solid because of it and it just means the likes of Fleck, Coutts and Duffy have less options when looking for a ball.

Want us to get a quality centre back to lead the back line instead of Wright or O'Connell.

Has to be said though, both those players are a definite improvement on Mceveley and Collins.

Glad we've turned it round though and looking forward to Lavery hopefully getting match fit asap

Funny int it, I am a fan of the system and I think we have the players to be successful with 3-5-2, time will tell, I'll tell you what though, lose and draw one and everyone will be wanting a straight back four.i just think it suits wilders style best. he needs a mid field five.

We've scored 5 away from home in a week?

Suppose I was thinking as in taking more of our chances. Last 2 games we've had god knows how many and should've scored 6 today. Done and Duffy could've had a hat trick each and Clarke missed should've scored a couple and finished the game off.

Thanks for the update. Are you the lad who called RS? he seemed to have very similar views, especially on the 3-5-2.

He also made the point that the teams we've played in the last few games are terrible, but I think you have to remember that teams in this league generally are terrible. If we play well and are strong then we will make these sides look awful (because they are). The trouble over the last few years is that we've been so crap ourselves that the other teams have looked better than they are.

But as I have always said, create the chances and we will win games. Problem has previously been we weren't even creating. With the forwards we have at the club if we keep putting the ball to them in front of goal they will score.

When it went to 1-3 it should've/could've been 1-6. Duffy missed 2 great early 2nd half chances and Done rounded the GK to miss before doing exactly the same to score.

I think the team played brilliantly again yesterday. Scoreline doesn't show a true reflection on the game

Must be the same lad. Called Reece as well.

A celebrity in our midst!

Add a fit Lavery and that guy who plays up front for Chesterfield and we'll start banging em in

How many players in your team? You want another CB when EEL fits your vacancy perfectly. Three central midfielders in your 4-4-2 and Lavery up front with Ched and Billy!

Oh, when the fixtures man says you must play Wimbledon, that is the only team you can beat...

I suspect you are one of our younger fans...

What a load of shit.

I said on the radio that EEL was quality but I still want another centre back rather than Wright or JOC cus I don't rate either. Although both are a solid improvement on Mceveley and Collins.

4-4-2? Where you getting this from? Saying the
3-5-2 holds us back can only mean 4-4-2?

Go 4-2-3-1/4-3-3

Moore

Freeman. EEL. Wright (for now). Lafferty

Coutts. Basham
Duffy

Done. Sharp. Lavery

When we attack Done and Lavery essentially play as inside forwards, pushing full backs on for width.

Ched would be good competition for all 4 strikers, if he'd have had that chance Clarke had yesterday we'd have been out of sight. Not to mention he still fits into an attacking 4-4-2 with Lavery out wide if you're chasing the game.

May I suggest you don't fuck him any more, then? :)
Can't argue with that advice, Pinch.
Probably the most sane thing that has emanated from your keyboard since we have shared the space accommodated to us on this forum.
Cheers, Blade

Well, I thought it was just compassionate common sense, mate. Why carry on fucking Brian when clearly it is doing neither you nor your goat any good?

I can only assume that your first sentence was an introduction to what was to follow. That being so, you might have ended it with a colon rather than a full stop. However, the content did indeed match the introduction, so credit to you for that.
