I see Reece Brown played for Bury last season, did he get released, if so is that really the calibre of players we want to be signing

Absolutely right...I've never seen them in the same room together. .could even be the same person .
:p

Ahhhh Chris Burke :)

Been saying for a while he can still do a job..underplayed the past couple of seasons at Forest because for some reason Freedman didnt fancy him , he doesnt appear to be a crock so there should be a fair bit of life in him, went on loan to Rotherham last season when Colin kept them up.

Not the quickest player but he can usually make space for a good cross in or he does like to cut in and then cause panic by going across the box and has a good strike on him, a good honest team player.
You're sounding like Nigel Adkins!

5 weeks into the season
Still without a club.

Go with what we have got, save any money we have until January.

its what i've been endeavouring to do every day since i joined S24SU :)

But how will he fit into a 1-3-5-2 system? Will he be able to help us keep it out at one end and stick it in the other? Does he have the grit required? Is he an honest, hard-working professional? Can he cope with Sat’day Tuesday Sat’day Tuesday? Is he robust? Can he perform in the arena? Does he do a lot of unseen work?

No, but there is a spirit about him

Burke in his Birmingham days. Looks to have clapped a bit of timber on. This is unlikely to mean anything to anyone who didn't grow up watching Children's TV in the 80s.

Was that trapdoor BfS?

talking of he and two people never seen in the same room at the same time.

Remember that Keef Gillespie was a winger that was out of luck with no club and nowhere near match fit when Warnock signed him. According to his book, Gillespie played in a trial match for us and couldn't do a thing right first half. Warnock told him he needed to see him put in 2 or 3 quality crosses second half or forget about it and Gillespie apparently did just that.

got to say , the hungrier they are the more I warm to it
players at times expect to get picked up at a higher level, if they are championship level players they expect to stay there

when finances dictate they aren't picked up , they look to the next best thing , a club hell bent on getting there

The cynic would suggest they'll do well in training, get a contract then do sod all.

Much like Flynn started to put some shifts in towards back end of 'The Worse Season In Living Memory' last year (TWSILM) is born...

Suppose it can't hurt to try. I don't know a lot about Brown, but if Burke has got anything left in the tank he will be good at this level.

Really hoping Burke's in good enough condition to get a contract. Will be great to watch him this season if he is.

What kind of winger is he mate? Does he rely on pace?

What kind of winger is he mate? Does he rely on pace?

Not really, he's clever and skillful like Glen Little but he did always have a bit of pace. He's a natural winger who is comfortable hugging the touchline, quite direct, can play inside as well though.

To be fair I saw footage of David Carney looking good on video and he was one of the biggest nesh cunts I've ever seen play.
seen videos of that ronaldo .flattering to deceive
hes a useless cunt too

3 of burkes goals are hundred times better than anything Carney did , ever and against championship sides

What kind of winger is he mate? Does he rely on pace?

I haven't seen him play more than half a dozen times, so maybe my opinion is distorted because he's often been a stand out player in those games, the one against us for Birmingham springs to mind as well as various others at Championship level (admittedly 2 years ago or more).

From what I remember he has bags of natural ability, mate; two good feet, a trick up his sleeve, can strike a ball excellently and is good at creating chances. Used to have some pace when he got going, but not a burst of pace to push himself past full backs to get to the byline and (as with most wingers at our level) could drift out of games. I'd be surprised if he isn't good enough at our level but I'm sure Wilder will know from this week.

Or does he fanny about?
