Battered them. Could have been 3 or 4 to 1 if we could have finished the chances we had.

Not been tonight and glad for the info. This loan signing of Chapman seems to be a really strange one, he could've stayed at Boro and played for their u23s, why have we brought him here is what I'd ask CW in an interview? I do think he has something about him but he's probably a bit worried and bewildered at his lack of competitive game time when you usually go on loan to do just that.Long a steady 7, Hussey better attacking than defending 6, Cummings a good solid 6, EEL bit unsure 6, Semple better as game went on 7.5, Fleck better as game went on 7, Whiteman MOM 8.5, Reed light weight 6.5, Chapman didn't want to be there 5, Brookes a talent 7.5, Wright a real handful 7.
Subs ... Hall not convinced 6, Charlesworth excellent right back 7, K Smith lightening fast but unpredictable 6
Really enjoyed it tonight. Deserved to nick the win.
Yeah , " I am a cunt " isn't hard to read on the blue and shiteNo problem reading the Wendy shirt numbers...
Quick report from tonight:
Finished 1-1 but we really should have won 4 or 5-1.
We played 4 at the back with Jake Wright Jr up front on his own with Chapman and Brooks wide of a 3 behind with Reed in the middle as a kind of number 10 and then Whiteman and Fleck behind.
First half was a non event. They had one chance just wide from the lad Rodney who had actually nearly got in the first minute. After this we had a few half chances but nothing that clear and most straight at the keeper.
Second half became more open and their were chances at both ends but we had most of them. We dithered a few times in the final third or played bad final ball (same as Sunday) and at times the play was sloppy (from both sides). However Brooks really impressed and Whiteman had a strong second half. Even Reed did better after being poor.
It seemed inevitable we may get one but they broke and scored. It was a brilliant ball from their lad played with outside of the foot that dissected the defence and Buckley beat the offside trap too get in. Long saved his one on one but it looped up and Buckley headed over him and in. After this we chipped away but looked a bit punchless up top. Then a decent move saw 4 or 5 involved and the ball was switched across and Whiteman hammered it from maybe 18-20 yards right into the top corner via the underside of the bar. It was a great strike.
After this it was all us really. They had one break and nearly got in but it was just whether United could nick the winner. Their keeper; Cameron Dawson; had a blinder and made 3 or 4 brilliant saves, two from point blank headers from Semple on a corner and sub Kimarni Smith; from a great cross from Hussey. Fleck forced a save from him and even at the end he made another good save down low.
United were not great but had a much stronger side on paper with more experience. Weds played 3 over 23's in Loovens (very rusty and nearly gave us a goal at the end), Sasso (centre backs) and also Buckley but none of others have had any first team experience (never heard of many of them).
United
Long 7/10 - His handling was fine tonight. Caught most things. Still a bit stop start a few times but no problems. Saved well on the goal and nobody got back to help with rebound
Cummings 6/10 - Did ok. He is a rangy, Viv Anderson style in how he looks, right back. He got up and down and was commited. Ended up at centre back. Very raw and gambles too much but got the physique and pace.
Hussey 6.5/10 - He played alright tonight. Hared up and down but often players did not find him. Mixed bag with crossing/corners. Hit first man too much but put a few beauties over too. He needs to be able to trust his right foot occasionally.
Ebanks Landell 6/10 - Really big unit. He attacks the ball well but is not great on the ball - seems very clumsy. He is certainly no nonsense and will get booked a lot. As others have said does not get much distance on his clearances.
Semple 6.5/10 - Seen him be lauded by a few academy watchers on here. Seen him a few times now. He is very slow I have to say. Looks Maguire-esque in terms of physique but he attacks the ball well. Got beat easily first minute and they lad Rodney nearly scored for them. Had a few other dodgy moments and got caught square on the goal too. He is not bad on the ball and will come out of defence and have a shot/play the long pass. Nearly scored too. Seems a long way off first team ready on that show and as a say lack of mobility worries me but there is some qualities and is only 17 and says something to be captain.
Fleck 6/10 - Quiet game. A few tackles and runs but overall not involved enough. Did have one shot near the end. Got booked for a poor foul.
Whiteman 7/10 - Thought first half he was not in the game at all and forgot he was playing. Got better second half and made a few tackles and got on the ball more. Scored a great goal. Still needs to do
more for me.
Reed 6/10 - As above. Very poor first half and even second half too many aimless balls or loose touches but a few moments of real quality like the smashed cross with the outside of his foot and one or two other decent balls. Sadly I think he is going backwards and he urgently needs a loan spell. Not sure at League Two a club would want him though on recent reserve/first team games I have seen.
Wright 5.5/10 - Not in the game much really. Chased around a lot but seemed to get a whack and then came off. Another that not sure has pushed on from those goal laden spells at Hallam etc a few years ago. A big season for like of him, Reed and Whiteman if they want to prove they have a future at SUFC. Not sure any are making a firm claim to even be on the bench at the moment.
Chapman 5/10 - Really disappointing. Seems to shy away from physical contact. He does not seem very quick and lacks a trick to beat a man. He drifted about but seemed to go to ground a lot. He picked up a knock and he went off second half.
Brooks 8/10 - Our best player by a long way. Some quality pieces of skill. One where he pulled it down a la Zidane see attached clip had the crowd in raptures. After this he showed some lovely touches. Seems to like playing the ball with the outside of his foot but seems two footed. One run second half where he drifted past 3 men and nearly got in again brightened up a drab game. He had a few other moments of class. Very frail and needs to add some muscle but he is maybe 5'10'' ish so not that small. He has a lot of ability and I think has a chance. Certainly he would be closer to first team than Reed or Whiteman on what I have seen.
Subs:
Hall 5/10 - Very odd shaped lad! He is very rotund shall we say...not fat but just quite well built but lacks pace and seems to run funny! He got in some great positions but he took poor decisions on every one apart from part in the goal. Had 2 great chances to win it but dithered after Loovens initial mistake and then crossed instead of shooting. Not sure on him at all. Looked a bit out of his depth.
Charlesworth - Played right back and did ok. Smallish lad but seemed ok on the ball/positionally.
Smith - Tall quick lad who can shift but another quite frail. Mixed bag with some poor touches and decisions but then nearly got in twice and one header he had could have won it - headed it down but good save.
Saw Foriesteri, Nuhuu and a few other Weds lads watching. Also McNulty was there. Sat on his own. Alan Knill was sat not watching and also saw Jack Lester, David Hirst amongst a few others.
Brooks surely should have a run, released by City due to beeing 'too small' but have grown and look a real prospect.

I hope you're right Bergs. My concern regarding my initial post is that he didn't really get a good enough chance when we weren't getting any results, which I thought was a bit strange.Chapman did well vs Leicester, showed good pace and dribbling ability. He was on international duty on Sunday, but should hopefully be a good addition, progressing and developing as the season goes on.
God they're a bunch of wankers aren't they
He signed around 12th, came on as sub against Rochdale on 13th, got 45 minutes against Southend and was a late sub against Millwall. He's only 18, he'll need a bit of time to settle in.I hope you're right Bergs. Pricks. 'I've got this on my CV and I'm unemployed'. Yeah, like most of your fellow pig supporting scruffy tramp, work shy cunts.God they're a bunch of wankers aren't they
Who was it who replaced Ebanks-Landell at CB? Was it Cummings moving over from RB? I just thought I saw someone come off the bench to replace him directly. He was better than him anyway. Didn't look great at RB though.
Considering the defence kept the pigs to 3 attempts at goal all evening I think to rate them so low is poor.
The goal was absolutely nothing to do with Semple. Hussey got caught out and they broke a high line. Was the only clear chance they had all night.

I appreciate that BB, I just thought he deserved a start whilst we wasn't playing very well, especially as Done has never been a LM.He signed around 12th, came on as sub against Rochdale on 13th, got 45 minutes against Southend and was a late sub against Millwall.
