Let's get that one out of the way next please United.

We've had the goal and the win, as well as the away win.

Now it's time for us to score first. Preferably along with a clean sheet please boys.

Great result today and done the ghost of the 4-0 reverse last year. We're getting there.

I'm still in shock over the fact we came from behind against Oxford never mind again today.

A couple of wins with clean sheets would be fantastic

All of last week, Gills fans were saying "it'd be nice to see us score the first goal in a game" (In 7 of our 8 matches this season, we've conceded first)
After Sunday, I can tell you that scoring first isn't all it's cracked up to be.

We have now conceded first in all 6 league games. Something had to give on Sunday!

It's nice to see us be able to win when behind.

I always used to fancy us when we were losing, never say die attitude. Completely lost in recent years. Particularly last season, 1-0 down was game over.

Gives us all confidence!!
Say what you will about the transfer window, I'm not particularly pleased, but Wilder has certainly brought in some character. The type we have lacked since Blackwell's play off final season.

We looked up for it Sunday. I said to my oldest we'd win, even when we went a goal down. Even late second-half I felt we had a winner in us. Not felt like that for a while!

character counts for more than most things in this league
skill can get sidelined by agricultural opponents
we have to stand up to getting bullied in games which is whats held us back

the televised game on Sunday I realised I wasn't shouting at the tv as much, show some bottle never came out of my lips
and I wasn't wincing at some of our play

Completely agree with you. Real positive sign...just hope we can kick on now

I was rather surprised at how calm and disciplined everyone was, almost as if they believed if they stuck with it they would get there. No panic, just determination. I hope this continues. It is only one element of what is required but as said above it is a very important element at this standard. Not yet exciting but effective.

On the goal, as an ex keeper you just knew with Dack that was going in. But it needn't have. Every credit because he can hit them as well as most in the EFL However, in pursuit of balance because I have criticised Long in the past, not only should the wall have done better but as a counsel of perfection Moore was not in the centre of his goal which might have helped.

Ok, he had to line the wall up for cover and then take a clear view of the ball striker (sometimes you don't need to). However, by his initial position it looks like he is tempting him to take on the shot he eventually did. Look at it from the Dack angle. He is not going for the rhs as he looks. Keeper is there and he's approaching the ball at the wrong angle anyway. He can use the wall as cover. He does. It is the only way he is going. As the commentator says "he took up the invitation" offered by Moore.

I learnt the hard way that in "proper football" there are kids (usually ex pros) that can hit a ball so hard and so well that we observers will never understand how difficult it is to stop a shot. I am surprised that Moore (appears to have) gambled his ability against Dack. I would have criticised Long for exactly the same thing.

Anyway. Yes please score first.
