Even if we hadn't had got the pen, I am proud of what I saw today from the players. They actually looked like a team but special mentions;

Moore - Assertive, Brave and gaffers the back 4 beautifully.

Wright - Similar to Moore. Had a great game and really has steadied us. Fantastic business.

Coutts - Best performance in a Blades shirt IMO. Was effective in both halves of the pitch and most of the best stuff went through him.

Freeman - Like Coutts has been a revelation in last couple of games. Didn't think he'd have the fitness or desire to get in the box but did effectively today.

I am just so happy to see us doing the basics well and winning battles around the pitch. Not the most polished performance, but represents good progress.

Nice to read a post match post like this!

I'll have what you're having!

I thought Coutts wasn't in it much in the first half. Second much better. Put a sliderule pass in that probably nobody in the squad could do that we just didn't get to.

Wright, I thought we were a bit too susceptible to the through ball but we need an organiser in there and he does that.

Moore, agree that he gives us a lot more confidence. Goal not his fault. One handling error but excellent save in first 5 mins.

Freeman is excellent at present. Fully justified why we let Brayford go and if Ebanks 'Big Dave' Landell is to get a place, it won't be at the expense of Freeman.

We were the best team throughout. Didn't deserve to be 1-0 down. Dominated second half and got our rewards. Bully can't keep being wasteful. 3 efforts and no goals before the pen. For what he is on, needs to be converting more of those though gutsy effort for the penalty.

Keep playing like that we'll do alright....only going to get stronger...

I think with Billy he needs to be prepared to be accused of being a lazy twat & staying central. I don't know if it is the passion of playing for your club and/or frustration that if he doesn't do it then nobody will but he ought to be scaring the shit out of their defence by lurking in dangerous areas.

Still, goal and an assist...

I thought we were very slow most of the time. Loads of meaningless possession and no quickness of thought and deed where it mattered,in and around the penalty area.
Deserved the win on balance of play but a gushing OP after a 2-1 win at Gillingham says all that needs to be said about what constitutes pride etc.
I guess thats what a decade of serial failure does for you.
I`ll jizz when we`re mathematically promoted. From the Championship.

Meet the new Ghandi...

I smile when |I hear of people easily pleased.
That makes me smile.

Sorry being 17th in Division 3 in our 6th season dosen`t get me masturbating on the Town Hall steps.

So basically you're not going to take pride in any league victory for at least the next 3-5 seasons (probably much longer)

No. I`m not going to jizz over a win in Division 3.
If we get promoted and show some bollocks, flair and passion I`ll be proud.

To achieve that, we need to put in strong performances and win games in this league. We did both today.

Yes I see your point about a bit being small minded to gush after nicking a win at Gillingham, but after a season were a game like we would have just fizzled out without even having a go, I am delighted to see us take the baby steps forward.

Promoted from The Championship is what you originally said and what I responded to.

I was relatively proud of our performance today and very happy with the result.

I`n very glad we won today. It made me feel happier than I was before the full time whistle.
That`s as much as it did and will do for me whilst our club languishes as near to non-league football than it does to the top flight.
I smiled when we won the penalty. I smiled when Billy converted it. I breathed a sigh of relief at full time.
There. That`s all you`re getting.

I expect Sheffield United to give Gillingham a good seeing to. I`m not proud we only just managed it.

And you saw it exactly the way I did .

That was a good strong performance throughout . And yes , we DID show pride and let's face it , we haven't done that for a long time .

Were there areas we need to improve ? Load of em . But CM is buildin a team and we are no where near the finished article .

Let's enjoy and move on . I reckon we are going to see a lot more better performances from us ..... and yes , shit loads of PRIDE

Has CW been sacked already?
Jeez. I thought after today he deserved a few more games!.:(

I've been to Gillingham 3 times over the years and seen us concede 4 goals on each occasion.

I didnt go today but I watched it on the box. Still a long way to go, but far more positives than negatives for me, I genuinely think that we're on the right lines now and hopefully this team will only get better. Like I posted after the deadline, I genuinely do feel more positive than I have done for a while.

Well done to the supporters who travelled down and hopefully, a safe, speedy journey back home.
Well done to United, who I thought were excellent today. That's an excellent in comparison to the results previous this season.
Well done to the Manager, who got the the tactics spot on, a selected XI who seemed to know and understand what was expected of them today. Hopefully, that will continue...
