KM : Harry isn't available at any price.
Hull City : Oh ok then bye.

+ 48 hours

KM : You know I said any price, well I lied. £3m should do it.
Hull City : You can have £2.5m or fuck off.
KM : We do take debit card.
you forgot to mention the bit about Maguire refusing to play for us.....allegedly

Somehow, I think the planning this season by those in charge has been worse than any other in the past 10 years. Youve got to take your hat off to them . Just when you think they have reached their peak, they manage to top it .

It's beyond comedy this club. It really is

All those that were supporting the 'let's sell Che and get a couple of hungry players in' idea, this is what happens, we sell cheap then are scraping the barrell for anything half decent, nothing in the budget, end up with below average squad players.

We keep falling for the same trick time and time again.

Wilder is only here because he was a cheaper option and he will work on a lower budget no questions asked. The only way out of this division is by going down. Sad but true.

And you'd think Wilder would speak to Clough, Adkins, Wilson et al and find out why they ...

Oh yeah. Non-disclosure.

pommpey

A simple idea would surely be look who's out of contract at the end of this season which will lower the value. I'd doubt if even this has been done.

"George Long wants to see whats out there" time for some therapy, he's lost it.

Got to say that Whilst I have no problem with Wilder or the club's strategy of not paying over the odds, I was hoping that Wilder would be saying something is imminent and, from that interview its clearly unlikely before the weekend and then we're back to last minute stuff again. As Wilder alluded to in the interview, he's realised that we need changes because of the results and now we're having to do it in the last few days. Before all our fans start whining, we have signed 8 so its not like we've been inactive, but I think all us fans have known that we needed a centre mid to replace Basham and we're still struggling to bring people in at that position now.

Stocky PS? Matlock Town maybe?

Anyone read Poch's comments on Bentaleb? 'He came and asked for a move so I said OK, you can go if you're not happy. But why train with the team if you don't want to be here'. What a bully.

I understand the 'we wont be held to ransom by other clubs as we know a players worth' policy which CW trotted out. That is commendable. However the issue i have is that we have had so much needed change this pre season that i could not for the life of me understand why we fannied about with the McFaz transfer for the sake of £250k. The impression i got from the SUFC management was that McFaz was to be the lynchpin of the defence. It was such a critical piece of the puzzle that there are times to be stubborn and stick to your guns about not paying over your valuation of a player, and times to take one on the chin and if necessary pay a little bit over what you would ideally want to pay as you know it will probably make a massive difference to the team. Im not saying we should do this for every potential target or that i personally thought McFaz was the man we needed. What is important is that CW identified McFaz as being his number 1 centre back target and we didnt do business for the sake of 250k. A ridiculous decision. We are now still trying to find that all important defensive lynchpin 3 weeks into the season and with 6 days only left in the window. Why didnt we go in for Beevers who went to Bolton? If we had we would have had him or McFaz in pre season and might now have lost the games we did. Theyve left themselves in a position where we will probably get stung in the transfer market now as clubs know we are a little bit desperate to strenghten in the next 6 days. Short sightedness again Utd. Just how difficult is it to find a big lad at the back who will get his head on things and lead the defence? Other clubs in this division have them...he doesnt have to be a worldbeater just someone who will win headers and clear our lines. Morgan at Wigan would be ideal. Now stop penny pinching and get a bloody deal done Utd cos it will cost you more in the long run if we have a terrible season and continue to concede soft goals.

Personally having listened to the interview I thought he was very honest. Said last week was his hardest in football since he was 16.
Was honest about the errors and where we've been gash this season.
Talked openly about targets
Agreed we've been poor and didn't try to spin it (something everyone wanted after last yr)
Knows we need pace up front
Has acknowledged his system isn't working to date
Has worked on shape of the team and drilled the defenders this week which is clearly what they need having only played 4 games together!

What do people want. We asked for an honest manager- we have one
We want a Blade in charge who is passionate about the club- we have one
It's clear he wants to succeed- That's what we want.

Give the man a chance 4 games. Let's get behind them this weekend and take some pressure off the team because we're the ones creating it by getting on their case.

Cheaper than who ? Who else was in the frame ?

We have had expensive options in the past (Robson,Clough,Adkins) and many fans wanted to get rid of them.

Ging down ? With the mis management of the club that is entirely possible

It's been more or less the same every season since we went down. If we'd spent a couple of million more in the first season so we were less dependent on players like KMac we'd have gone up and not lost the £20m or whatever it's been over the last four years.

Not being held to ransom..?
We haven't got any money, but we won't tell the mu... sorry, supporters that.

Clubs are asking for ridiculous amounts .. ?
............................................................................................ (looks at wall, hoping to find the true meaning)

Do I really need to add anything else what you's lot haven't already written/thought?

Fuckin' excuses.

Looking beyond the short term disappointment, there is a long term approach at work here. Wilder wants new recruits but he's not going to succumb to ridiculous demands and make knee-jerk reactions. Doing that is a big part of the reason we've wasted countless millions in the past and still find ourselves in this division. Yes, we do need 3 or 4 additions of quality and I expect those to be made in time, at the right price for us. I have the confidence in Wilder to continue to make the tough decisions and slowly but surely drag this club in the right direction. He needs the time and support to do that, and that's got to come from us. Patience is required.

At the end of the day, it's not his money, it's The Two Connies...

He's been told that's the deal.
Sell/Clear Out = Ability to buy/loan/sign..

We won't be paying stupid money, not because Wilder's a tough nut, it's because that's the law.
Wrap it up. Sugar coat it. Make us look like we're in charge... they'll buy it, cos you're a Blade Chris,
but don't forget Chris, I'm K and I call the shots, you just take the bullets.

Not sure who would possibly want to take Long as number one - he may be better as he was supposedly considering in the summer - taking a deal with a Prem/Champ team and being a no 2/3 keeper.

It may sound daft but he may pick up decent wages for a while and without pressure on he can play in reserves etc and accept his lot.

Admire him wanting to be no 1 but lets be honest he will have to go into non league or Scotland to have that chance now I feel. Not even sure a lower league 2 club would take him.

As I say decent money in going somewhere and just been a no 2/3 keeper if he would accept that. It would look unambitiious but if wants a career as a professional keeper that might be preferable to being out of the game altogether in a few years.

Reading between the lines it seems we really have no fucking idea the state of the market. It's a seller's market. Any other year what we got would've been a fair price for Ché but I'm starting to question that... We just look clueless. "Oh, decent L1 players cost a fair bit these days eh, why didn't anyone tell us?"

We've been here 6 years, buy a fucking clue McCabe.

We can't bemoan other circumstances; such as silly prices from elsewhere. What it does highlight though, is that we ought to have the fucking balls to hold on for silly prices for our best assets.

You want Che Adams, pay for him.
You want Brayford, pay for him.
Don't sell for peanuts, or allow him to leave on a loan to poxy Burton. And yes, I consider £1.9m peanuts in today's market. And I bet we don't have a recall clause on Brayford.

This club is thick as fuck.

What I would say, is despite all of that - I admire Wilder's transparency. He doesn't dither about things, he's to the point - George might be off, Long might be off, Webster isn't coming. Done. No spin.

"Talks about incomings are ongoing ahead of the weekend."

If that doesn't say "your board are a bunch of ambitionless pansies, tip toeing in the market, hoping for a bargain", I don't know what does.

We are desperately short in so many areas and what do we do? We have meetings to talk about talks relating to incomings.

GET SUMAT FUCKING DONE, YOU TARTS. SPEND SOME MONEY.
