McCabe Time For You To INVEST or GO

Do you think the assets are worth £65m and the football club which is owned by BL has no value in any potential sale?

I haven't said HRH would want any amount of money let alone £65m so why you are asking me I have no idea.

You need to ask the person who knows all about it what the breakdown is and what happens to HRHs investment.

Re: Princey+ money, I must have misinterpreted this bit then

Hello, HRH owns 50% of Blades Leisure Ltd which owns the club. Do you think he'll just walk away without his millions whileKev pockets £65m? Really?

It's doesn't matter what I think the assets are worth, all that matters is McCabe's valuation and what he'd like in order to walk away...of course he could simply sell his half of Blades leisure and walk away, for lets say a pound..

I believe the hotel was built with an £18 million loan secured against the football club...but it's slightly irrelevant as he's transferred this and other assets into his families companies, so doesn't have to sell these to be out of the running of the club...and of course, by reducing the wage bill, the club may well be able to 'stand on its own two feet' in the next year or so...

I am not ITK, never claim to be, although I know a couple of people who are semi ITK and have been told things in the past which came to fruition. Anyway, if KM wants £65M he will never get it, we all know that. Tommy Tuna bought SWFC for around half that and took over a solid, if unspectacular, Championship side. I heard some time ago, from one of my ITK pals that KM would accept around £35M as long as that was all up front, i.e. not staged payments.

We all get passionate and heated over SUFC because we are all 100% Blades on here, committed, but people shouldn't say KM should invest or go, as if he is going to do that. That's like saying your neighbour needs to do his house up, or sell it, because it looks shabby and makes the street look bad.

It's up to KM what he does, or does not do, with SUFC.

And he can't sell without offers. They are conspicuous by their absence. People should be cautious what they wish for. At the moment it's KM or insolvency.

McCabe is far from perfect, but I guess its his turn in front of the blame spotlight again.

He brought in two high profile managers in Clough and Adkins and backed them to spend on players such as Brayford, Hammond etc etc. The managers them selves would not have come cheap, neither presumably would the compensation paid when their contracts were terminated. He wasn't to know just how crappy their tenures or purchases would be.

He then makes the tough decision to move away from the Brand Name managers, and bring in a manager who is proven at lower league level and actually gives a shit about United. Again, funds have been made available for purchases. Currently we are in Groundhog day territory again. The manager look out of his depth and the new players aren't responding.

As I say, he is far from perfect, but has shown commitment and decisiveness in terms of management and budgets. I think he gets a raw deal from a lot of forum members who just look for an easy target to blame.

What funds have been made available for players?

That's right you did.

Shareholders agreements are highly likely to preclude either of them just selling to anyone. So no, not that simple. I'd guess first option would be offer the shares to the other shareholder. I doubt McCabe would take a pound for his though.

As I've said, two deals if any new owner wants to buy outright. No he doesn't have to sell you're correct, but the info given was including property.

He transferred out debt of an equivalent amount to the value of the hotel at the same time btw. Just as he did with the ground.

Ah, 'he transferred out debt's' equivalent to the hotel...perhaps you could explain further who these debts were owed to how they came about?

Supported the manager with transfers in. Big Signings being Clarke, Moore, Fleck

SwissBlade I genuinely think this is part of the problem. Blade56 posted elsewhere about United having 'missed the bus' in relation to modern football, and I agree with him - we have, and yet some - most? - of our fan base haven't caught on to the fact yet. I feel it myself if I'm honest - some foreign randomer in the Premier League is signed by, let's say Crystal Palace, a club that I dare say most Blades fans would consider "smaller" than we are, for 35 million quid, while we're making do with 'undisclosed fees' or, at best, being asked to swallow that an incoming journeyman for £500K is a "big signing".

There's a rational reaction to this, but there's also an emotional response - and I can understand why people might think "Big signing? Bollocks." All contributes to the growing frustration.

Let's be perfectly clear. Any suggestion (and there are plenty of them) that Kevin McCabe has made, is making, or will make, a profit out of SUFC is ignorant bollocks. The balance sheet is the other way by tens of millions.

Have a debate by all means about the errors he's made and what he should do in future (not that he has many options by the way) but let's call a halt to the untruths and snide comments, eh?

Scarborough, Banks. Do you think the hotel built itself at no cost? This is so simple I really think you are just being deliberately obtuse. If not, it's no point trying to explain something you can't grasp.

It's in the accounts in some detail.

Where do I suggest he's 'made, is making, or will make a profit out of SUFC?

Think your jumping the gun and trying to close down any discussion on the subject...it simply isn't the one way street you'd like to portray.....

No it's a two way street, with the vast majority of the traffic moving in one direction. I know it doesn't suit the Roswell/Moon Landing/Elvis type theories but it is simply the truth.

McCabe Time For You To INVEST or GO

How many seasons have gone by, how many matches have been played, how many managers have we had...
and how many times has this statement been made by so many different forum posters?

What has been the outcome..... ?

Actually, no. The company would be insolvent and wound up in all likelihood. Football doesn't quite fit the normal business model for the very reason that it's football and prudence often goes out of the window and emotions prevail.

Seriously, How would you effect this 'change at the top'. Ain't nobody in the queue, I'm afraid...

It is where the pressure and all eyes should be looking, not at managers. That is my point.

But to an businessman like McCabe a loss here can be written of there or am I wrong Sean Thornton ?

Ok, but apart from the very easy task of spending other people's money, what do those applying the 'pressure' have in mind?

All this smacks of the usual 'McCabe out' and no answer to 'what do we do then?...'

..it's the convoluted nature of McCabe's dealings with the club that are fucked up, the property/asset's seem of far more importance than the football side...

Let's land the club in debt to the tune of £18 million to build a hotel (we don't need) then swap the hotel out of the club in exchange for debts (loans made by his other companies to the club), loans which he has no chance of getting back any other way...

I simply don't think the bloke has his eye on the ball...

I'm assuming money. If you're itching to make a point, now would be a good time.

I'd happily buy McCabe's half of Blades Leisure on his premise of 'letting the club run on it's own two feet'...which he appears to be enacting..
