I am just thinking about players that have been linked with us (rightly or wrongly) however haven't moved. Are these players that we need to still be or start looking at?

Diego Poyet - West Ham CM - Battling ball player
Morsy - Wigan CM - Battling ball player
Lavery - Pigs - Sriker with Pace
Maitland-Niles Arsenal - Attacking midfielder who can play off both flanks
Luke Murphy - Leeds - more of a box to box midfielder from memory
Sullay Kaikai - Crystal Palace - Winger/Attacking Midfielder - Strong direct.
Demetri Mitchell - Man Utd - Pacey winger with a few injury problems
Jermaine Grandison - Free Agent - CB Shrewsbury
Kevin Long - Burnley - CB
Scott Wootton - Free agent - CB from Leeds
Matty Taylor - Striker Bristol Rovers - don't really know anything about him but is he too similar to Billy, which A we already have and B, isn't working as yet.

Baptiste - CB Boro - Would be the perfect guy for me next to O'Connell and has another pace experience to cover a marauding fullback. Unfortunately will be out of our price band unless McCabe is going to get his mate at Boro to be very generous.

All decent suggestions, all too expensive for us.

We need to save money to send to Burton Albion.

Thought we had just saved money by sending Brayford there?

Isn't Wooton at MK Dons?

Kevin Long has just been given a new contract by Burnley after they turned down 350k from Bristol City. I would say that a loan deal to a championship club would be more likely if he doesn't get into the first team. At 26 he really ought to be wanting regular first team football

Would be worth getting rid of Brayford if it meant that someone like baptiste in. Highly unlikely admittedly.

And the rest?

Suppose we will see over the next week or 2. Not that I expect us to spend it all, we never do.

I do get a sense though that Wilder will be given a bit more slack financially after Southendgate. We are knackered if not.

Didn't Wilder say, before Che was sold, that he still had money to bring other players in?

Get James Hanson in. At least we would have one player in the team suited to the current "style".

Doubt that Wilder would sell someone he has just named captain, unless there has been a falling out or somat?

...unless there has been a falling out?
I'm guessing there's been a few given the start...

Not sure how much this guy knows, but interesting nevertheless...

If Taylor's actually a possibility and we're serious about him, then that has to spell the end for Billy Sharp. I wouldn't be unhappy with that either. Taylor would be a massive coup.

Fuck knows why we'd want Matt Green. 29 years old, has an ACL injury behind him and is pretty average anyway.

If two attack minded players are arriving you'd assume Lavery is one of them.

What do we need more at full back on loan - right back or left back? For me it depends on the midfielder we sign. I'd be happier with Basham at RB than Hussey at LB on the evidence so far.

Five signings would be an awful lot, and it seems unlikely. Maybe there will be more departures than expected. Maybe someone will take Coutts. And if we're really signing two strikers surely at least one of Done and McNulty will be leaving.

I'd sooner both Done and McNulty go than Coutts, personally. Though if it were all three or none I'd go for all three. If anyone hadn't already realised it's now crystal clear that a commanding centre-back is an absolute overriding priority.

Oh, and the bloke who's playing in Billy Sharp's shirt as well. He's not fooling me...

That bloke claims a lot (Changes his story every day) but never seen him get one thing right yet so I wouldn't read too much in to it
