Never thought he should be captain, still don't. Sharp did today what he's good at and should be appreciated for - getting us out of the shit with a goal. Caught offside time after time but you always know he only needs to beat it once and he's through. For me, a captain should be a central defender or midfielder where they naturally have a more involved role in organisation and won't drop out of the action of a game.
It wasn't quite there today in terms of partnership though I expect Sharp and Clarke will complement each other very well as the season goes on. Not surprised to see Clarke get a bit mardy, he's always come across that way when he's played against us. To an extent I'm happy to see it as players need to be told when the service is poor or that they should be moving for his flicks. Done will run all day without a complaint, and that's great, it's just sometimes you need a bit of arrogance telling the rest to step it up. You could see Clarke moaning at Done in the first half when he called for the chest down and then ran past him.
I have no concerns about those front two. It's some of the others that I have major problems with. Rochdale came out positively, made a real game of it, but ultimately it's a game we should have won and haven't because one of our key positions simply isn't up to it.
