Using and twisting every event, situation and circumstance to bash our own club, assuming everything emanating from SUFC is a lie and ascribing sinister motives to everything we ever do, is malicious rather than grown-up.

This not particularly aimed at you by the way; you are far from the worst, but some of them make me wonder whether they actually support our club at all...

Fucking clapper.....

Amazed to find Marsh Blade is still on here. Read a tearful rant this week that us scum from BladesMad had driven all the itk's away!

Wilder went on record and said Che wasn't having a medical at Birmingham... doesn't mean it isn't true.
He actually said he was in Birmingham. Rowett said he wasn't having a medical ( I think) which might have been true if the medical had already been completed

Sorry no updates so far .

To the tune She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes.

It's all gone quiet over there
Oh it's all gone quiet ove there
Oh... It's all gone quiet, all gone quiet.
All gone quiet over there.

We've been fed a load of horseshit, cue meltdown
Oh we've been fed a load of horseshit, cue meltdown
We've been fed a load of horseshit
And Marsh Blade fucking knew it
Fed a load of horseshit, cue meltdown

Ricky, you were one of the most vociferous about us wanting rid of Ché, now Wilder's stating that he's struggling to recoup that money from the board for investment (granted, he could be saying that tactically but given our historical nature of reinvestment I think he's probably telling the truth) and now you would rather we lost Brayford, with Morsy coming in, than just bringing in Morsy. As someone who just pays to watch the football, I don't get why you're so keen for us to weaken our side for cash returns all the time? I'm not having a pop or anything, I like you as a poster, you just have a different perspective to me that I don't understand.
You are being economical with the truth

Wilder has not said he is struggling to recoup the money from the Board for investment. He actually said he was in discussions with the Board

Really? I know Rowett said it.

He actually said he was in Birmingham. Rowett said he wasn't having a medical ( I think) which might have been true if the medical had already been completed

No he didnt, CW said the opposite, Rowett made the 'no medical' claims.

Sorry, my mistake, got mixed up. My point remains though, just because a manager says something, doesn't mean it should be taken as gospel.

Do you seriously think that Wilder doesn't know exactly what his budget is and didn't know that before he authorised the Adams sale? He's at the centre of all this, not a spectator. You don't reveal all your cards to a local hack reporter....

Oh and he couldn't wait to sell Adams. Not a fan.

Unless you're privy to some insider info then I'm not sure where you've got that from, I only ever heard Wilder speak very positively about Ché and now that he's gone he is begrudging that his squad lacks anybody that is a strong dribbler and has the ability to beat a man, which leads me to think he probably begrudges the loss.

And do I think that Wilder is in complete control of player sales? No. I think McCabe pulls the rug from under our managers year on year.

We do need pace and skill but come on, Che didn't really have either in any great abundance..

Apologise, I certainly didn't mean to be "economical with the truth" I probably just did my own cynical little interpretation based on years of listening to the same crap and came to that conclusion. You're right though, that is all that was said.

Fair point Bart but I have a slightly different take on it. It's all about planning which the sound bites we hear suggests none has taken place. For example........CW openly says on Radio that he still wants to add more to the squad because, despite being happy with his signings so far and there being more to come from them, it's not yet finished. Added to this, it's been clear for a few weeks that Adams might leave and that we would get an amount we want for him. Based on this and him having to know what he might be able to get, I'd like to think that the names have already been discussed with the technical board etc. and (AND THIS IS WHERE IT PROBABLY FALLS DOWN) approaches made to and agreements reached with the board that if Adams goes and we get £X, then £Y is available to CW to go for some or all of his list immediately. Unfortunately in classic SUFC style, the sale has happened, we have an amount of money but the board seemingly are only now considering the manager's requests.

But the transfer only happened at the beginning of the week. Until the sale was agreed how did CW or the Board know how much he had to spend ? All Boards will 'consider' manager's requests. Common practice I would have thought. I would have also thought that common sense will dictate that CW will not have available all the money from the transfer.

If CW turns round and says there is no money available then I agree with what you are saying but as yet there is not even a hint that the Board aren't supporting CW financially instead the manager is talking about wanting 3-4 players insterad of saying ' I am happy with what I have'

May I refer the numerous honourable gentlemen and posters to post number 43 of this thread. (That should make it happen if it is actually a possibility)

To be fair, given the lies of the past that have emanated from this club, some cynicism is entirely understandable.

As no one knows the payment terms of the Che transfer and assuming it's payable over a period then any negotiations we have will have to take that into account. Just because a transfer fee is reported/guessed at doesn't mean it's all paid and is sitting in a tin in McCabes sock drawer.
Maybe these negotiations, if they are happening, is the reason why things take time? But no, let's just assume he's not getting it and is now having to arm wrestle Baki for a few quid to spend, despondent as he is at being lied to by the board.

It's all gone quiet today on this Des Sopitch bloke though. Not popular with some but anyone know what's happening?

I'm assuming there was an upfront payment, albeit a portion of the original sum, yes?

That's what I'd expect but when I said no one knows I was including myself. I'm not a fan of dressing up total guesses as informed opinion, be they positive or negative.
