I like absolute facts. They are much better than the other kind of facts.

I agree that Chesterfield would not get anywhere near £3m for him. They wouldn't get anywhere near £1m for him. £300k max. So he should be in our "value for money" bracket?

I can't imagine they'd take 300k.. potentially 500k.. 750k if we're feeling trigger happy.

I still think Coutts has something to offer. He just needs to up his work rate. We forgot sometimes that was his first season back after a long injury. Williamson was poor in his first season back but went on to be a key player. Coutts could do the same. He's got the talent to do it and most folks on here, who claim to know their stuff, were raving about him when we signed him. They remembered him being a stand out player at Preston.

He must be looking at this squad now and the lack of interest in him in the transfer market and realising it's time to step up to the plate. I think he will. And I think we'll then see a few more positive opinions about him on here. Maybe even the "I told you so" brigade. So let me be the first one!

An incoming from Chesterfield - He plays for Chesterfield.
It's not Ched - He's not Ched.
We're looking for a wide player - He's a wide player.
We're looking to bring in exciting players - He's a pretty exciting player.
Well be spending money - He'll be expensive.

Who knows....
 
Would be a cracking addition but I can see Chezzy really cashing in on this lad so suspect he will go to a Championship club. Fingers crossed though.

Don't quite know what happened with the :rolleyes: emotion there.
 
Seen Chesterfield 3 times so far this season and sat amongst the home fans every time. I said before the season started that we should try and get this lad Ariyibi. He's very tricky and has pace. He's also very raw and I think we need to be aware of that. He frustrates some Chesterfield fans because he can tend to drift in and out of the game a lot and his final ball, his decision-making, isn't brilliant. But yes, he can dribble and he can take players on and has pace. If we were to sign him and nurture him a bit then he could be a key player for us. But I suspect he will have a similar relationship with the Blades fans to JCR. Some will think he is wonderful for the skill and entertainment value - others will only see that he has not much of an end product and keeps kicking it into the kop.

He can't, he goes missing for long spells in a game. Undoubted talent but not sure he fits Wilders work ethic so unless the boss thinks he can change him I can't see him being a target

In fairness, there were players like Freeman, Scougal, Done and Coutts which we had concerns about before Wilder got hold of them.
 
He's been poor for Chezzer this year, I'm told.

His heart's not in it and doesn't seem to fit Wilder's philosophy.

Interesting that a number of Chessie players are being linked considering Paul Mitchell's role - he will know about O"Shea's and Ariyibi's strenghts, weaknesses and fit to CW"s requirements as well as anyone.
 
Sort of player you pay a million or so at this level but once up their value rockets. I.e Matt Ritchie/Alan Judge. Would be a brilliant signing.
 

Saw him at Chesterfield today, hope we don't pay anything!! Can't see he adds anything at all to what we have, he was average at best.
