When was the last time we took 4,000+ to a league game OUTSIDE of the Yorkshire Region?

The issue in play to my mind, isn't about our loyalty or the numbers taken. It's the case that many grounds aren't big enough to cope with the numbers we would take. We would have taken at least 4k to Luton away before we went up to the Premiership. Wimbledon next month will be a hard ticket to get as the whole ground only holds 4k. Crawley and Stevenage can't hold much more. Brentford away in the last Wilson season springs to mind as another where the interest outweighed the away end.

Mind you the smaller grounds are great and as I keep saying to my Southern Mates who 'support' (but don't follow) Premiership clubs, it's where real football is played, with terraces, pylons, local people and not a prawn fecking sarnie in sight. Give me the Peterborough and Swindon experience over the Chelsea and Arsenal one any day.

Perhaps its just a way for an ageing Blade to remember his youth...but then there's Nowt wrong with that!

Personally agree with your sentiment. Don't care if we never play Arsenal, Chelsea or any of the Premiership cheats. Be happy in the Championship bobbing around where there are still some proper sides and a bit of soul still left in the game.

Speaking as someone who regularly attends non-league matches, does the Championship have more/less/equivalent amount of soul as Division 1?

Just so I know where to pitch my ambitions for the Club.

That's why I said personally. Just as I see it but you go live it your own way, just get that sand out your vag before you do.

Fair enough, dont take it personally, thought it was a discussion.

Personally, I'd rather watch Arsenal than Wolves, but that is just an opinion.

Although I'd sooner watch Rugby Town V Grantham than Arsenal V Wolves.

Fair enough, I'm all for personal opinion.

It's not the team it's the league. Remember how we were treated last time we were in there? It's a league that allows cheats to prosper. I don't care if we never get there again.

When we were in Championship I would have thought that we probably took 4K to most away visits to Forest and Derby

You have a point. I have no interest in that league whatsoever, so we not so different. But there's a niggle that questions how I would feel in April 2018 when we two points clear of Derby and Newcastle with a couple of games to go... (Nurse, nurse!)

Tomorrow I'll go with my mate and hopefully HBJnr to watch my local non league side, nasty burger, beer on the terrace... It's a 1pm kick off, so I'll be nicely primed for the Shoutbox..

I'll take it if in some distant galaxy it comes but I won't really care.

It's quite hard to do in league 1

Because hardly any clubs have an away end holding 4,000 plus.

I remember we sold out Charlton when Ched played, think it was 3,000.

To be honest I wish our fans would stop wanking off about how many we are taking, we sound like Leeds and Pig fans.

If there's one thing I detest on my Twitter /FB feed its supporters of those clubs posting a picture of their 'following ' with a caption of how massive they are.

The amount of fans taken away never has and never will gain any points.
100 % agree let the insecure from south Barnsley , and leeds , wank themselves into a froth bout there numbers .
We Almost Won At Wembley ,
took how many ,
Wankers .

Notts County was a good turn out the other year must have been pushing 4k there, we had that whole side?

Also remember going to Barnsley when Billy scored the winner and again I can't remember the figures but there were almost as many blades as banjo playing dingles

Absolutely fantastic effort - would have gone, but not in the UK.

So much for all the crap about a boycott............

UT "magic" B

Good look Wilder's United

Whilst I agree that attendances and such aren't the be all and end all, I am very interested to see some of the away followings we might have if we are challenging for a top two spot this season. I'd imagine we will challenge ourselves for the highest away attendances this season.

We'll take close to 3000 to Scunthorpe next month and then to Bradford City and Chesterfield following that.

If we're challenging, I'd imagine close to 3000 at Charlton in November and Coventry in December.

After Christmas is when it really gets interesting - Bury on January 2nd could be a huge one as it was in 2011/2012. When we hit March, we have Rochdale and Oldham where I reckon we could get 4000 if we needed it. In April, our final two away games are Port Vale and MK Dons - if we're close, how many will we take there? MK can accommodate 10K I believe, Port Vale is a decent away end too.
