I grew up in the 60s on the Gleadless Valley, and on the parade of shops at Newfield Green (near Blackstock pub), Harold Brook owned the newsagents, and Joe Shaw owned a haberdashers shop (for youngsters, this is shop selling wool/fabric/cottons etc.)
