Why, I'm glued to the Twitter account you told me to watch, Wots appended?

I've just been through the Peace Gardens and Che and McNulty are laid out on a park bench with a couple of bottles of meths and a white lightning chaser. Not going anywhere until it's all supped. FACT.

So I guess you believe that the GB Olympic team have been training hard 6 days a week then having a session and staying up til 5 am to wind down on the 7th?

What's more, those grown men to whom you refer, aren't professional athletes. Those grown men work in mundane jobs working forty hours for a living wage to provide as well as they can for themselves and their family. Their ability to do so, rarely depend on physical fitness, so big deal, they can get pissed whenever they like.
If the young lads want to do 'exactly the same thing', then let them stand shoulder to shoulder on the factory floor, or sit opposite in the call centre and let them take home the same wage packet.

Not likely, so whilst these young lads are getting paid ten times the salary, for one tenth of the hours, in the best job in the world, perhaps they should stop and take stock of their life. Then hopefully they would appreciate their responsibilities, to the club, to the fans but mostly to themselves, to give absolutely everything to be the very best that they can be and realise their true potential.

If they want to get hammered and stay up all night, then do it in the summer or go play elsewhere:mad:

Just like the folk on the factory floor/ in the call centre these 'young lads' make choices about how they wish to conduct themselves OUTSIDE work - if they choose to get hammered and piss it (& their careers) up the wall, that is THEIR choice & they face the consequences including going to play "elsewhere" (probably in this instance somewhere less salubrious / rewarding than their present employers) eg Baxter

If (when) I turn up for work blootered and don't perform to the standard required I get the heave ho (or promoted).
I was / am not required, other than 'morally' to "give absolutely everything", hence my contribution to the demise of the British coal mining industry (NCB = no C@#% bothered)

Do you post on the McDonalds forum berating the spotty oik that didn't give a fuck about the quality of his/her performance &/or insinuating that it was a consequence of their going out on the lash ?
OR the Barclays site demanding that the investment banker (sic) do better following his/her abject performance following the previous evenings snorting session (must be the Penistone Road branch)

Even by my surreal reckoning (when sober) & despite the weather it IS Summer

Has the apathetic wanker gone yet? Can he take McFuckwit with him?

Talent or no talent, if you don't give a shit about the club or trying to improve yourself then fuck off.

Sorry still not gone. He's not yet realised that the "hoverboard" still needs wheels to get anywhere.

I was going to reply, but I've just re read your post and thought, what's the fucking point

Can you provide more details?

In what way were they "giving it the big I am" with an entourage rather than simply having a drink with friends?

Not good being out at that hour I agree but was there behaviour otherwise unusual for a group of young lads?

At the time I was going out for a smoke, McNulty was deep in discussion with the doorman as to why he wasn't allowed in. That's when I thought it was a good idea to try and talk to him

As you're the key witness to this now legendary "night out on the lash" enjoyed by McNulty, Adams and their "entourage", could you clear a few queries up for the rest of us?

How drunk did Adams seem when you spoke to him?

How drunk did McNulty seem when you spoke to him?

When McNulty was talking to the Bouncer, would you say he was being agressive? Arrogant? Or just trying to sweet talk his way in?

It may seem unimportant but everyone (including me) is making their own assumptions about certain player's conduct without actually trying to establish any actual facts about their behaviour.

Granted I had a few shandys myself, Iat first I thought it was just some twat with a silly haircut (which you could argue was correct!) but then a few minutes later I realised who it was, he'd clearly been told several times he wasn't coming in, and wouldn't let it go, Adams wasn't there at that point, and then appeared out of the blue from around the corner and was with a few lads at the bus stop (asked me for a smoke of my cig as it goes and then said "nah only kidding") truth he told McNulty was worse than Adams, I've bumped into Adams a few times on nights out and more often than not he's a pleasant chap and doesn't mind a chat.

That was exactly my initial response to YOUR post but nowt better to do @the time (then & now)

Strangely though you have replied (after a fashion) in albeit in a world weary manner that implies I'm 'talking' tosh but with no repudiation or 'riposte' of any substance to my comments
In summary: Why does an 'athlete' have to give any more of a fuck about his JOB than anyone else just because he's paid well to do something many other folk would give eye teeth to do (for nowt)?

Apparently Chesterfield want £3m for Ariyibi!! £2m for Adams looks like a reasonable fee for any championship club.

This is starting to sound like it belongs on the Ched thread...

Firstly, I believe that irrespective of your employment, you should strive to be the very best that you can be, in that particular field.

So although I don't consider footballers to be unique in that respect, they are currently playing in an era where the financial rewards have never been higher, they are therefore unique in their earnings potential. As an example, you might be the best Roofer in Sheffield, which may secure you more work and generate more profit, but no one is ever going to pay you £50,000 a week to put tiles on. Everyone who drags their arse out of bed each morning, does so, not for the love of work, but because someone is paying them to.

Few of us are in a position where purely through self denial, sacrifice, hard work and dedication, we could retire at 32 with more than enough money to last our lifetime. Anyone fortunate enough to be in that position, who doesn't give everything, to achieve all that they are capable of, both professionally and financially, is a fool and heading for a lifetime of regret. (In my opinion)

Kids are kids at the end of the day, it's scientifically proven that they're wired up differently until they get passed adolescence, they take more risks and above all want to have fun whilst they can.

I appreciate they get paid shit loads of money, and they are lucky in that sense, but if I were them I'd still want to enjoy my youth whilst I could. Some people can do it and it not affect them too much, some can't and have to make sure their heads on it the next day.

They are different these days> bygone managers would let their players do anything knowing they would put it in on a Saturday. Their performance was important to them. Michael Irvin used to do coke, strippers and hookers till 4am almost every day, but he would be the first into training and be on point, becoming one of the best players in NFL.

If your'e unable to do that, then get to bed early and wake up the next day wanting to be better.

Just read the comment on the BBC website about Birmingham being outbid for Che, looks like it will be decent money if he does go

It's pretty pointless if he goes on dead line day though.
Does it say who's out bid them?

Have you seen Che's physique? I think that lad cleared adolescence at 11!

Lol he is a beast.

but it's not only physicality that develops, cognitive development can carry on well into the 20's, particularly in males and isn't really influenced by physical development.

I think we could all agree that Che has shown signs that his cognitive development has someway to go.

The article is actually vague. The headline on the page before opening the specific article reads outbid, the body of the article says outpriced. Read it both ways. There`s no reference to a club other than Brum other than in a general sense.

Surely outpriced means the price is out of their reach (imposed by SUFC) whereas outbid means a bid by another interested party? Perhaps it's just that we are asking more than they can afford.
