Prematch imbibing

It's Bradfield ales that have won me recently, Belgian blue is my favourite by far

There are occasional post-match pints in the Beer Engine... or at least there were last season, in an attempt to forget what we'd just witnessed.

I'm there before and after most games! Only place I know of in Sheffield that sells Oranjeboom.

Either Shakey or Sheaf View for me before and after, a curry and a pint at the India Garden.

Why don't we pick a pub for s24su regulars to meet up in before matches ? Or would that break the spell ? Spoil the mystique of the adopted nickname ? Draw back the veil to reveal the ugly truth ? Or should this post be in 'Exiles , Away Blades & Social ' ?

My mystique could be seen in the crown on Chezzie road ,enjoying the 2 for a fiver on guinness and wondering why i am bothing to leave to watch that pile of steaming dog shit for a team last season.
Same pub this season but different team and manager.
My glass has just had the head knocked off,im that confident.

I've met a few posters by (attempting) to play footie with them on a Sunday morning. It's funny how even then some are apprehensive about revealing who they are! All great lads though....
I can sometimes be found in the Red Lion or the Beer Engine pre match and later often wishing I'd stayed there. Post match I usually meet the wife in the Sheaf Island then with any luck a curry somewhere - Shapla is a personal favourite.

Haven't a clue who any of you are.
After the grimsby game last week it turns out I was surrounded by you lot, I was sat next to a poster and didn't know.
They say you should never meet your hero's but if I ever bump in to LS26BLADE he better be as bitter, aggressive and offensive in real life or I will be gutted. :(

I know the feeling. If I ever meet metalblade and he isn't called "Kevin McCabe Hater, fresh from an anti-McCabe rally and blaming McCabe for promotion, relegation, every defeat, every goal conceded, Deano leaving, Deano signing then leaving then signing, Robson, Weir, Adkins, Webber's shot off the post, Brexit, the 6th Rocky movie, the Lindburgh baby, JFK, Jack the Ripper and rap music, I will be disappointed.

Or simply not believe it's him.

I always have to quickly explain that my username is not my real name to everyone I meet off the forums. Because "Tyler" is a fucking poncey name. I wish I'd given it a bit more thought before I chose it 9 years ago.
But I'm stuck with it now. Got to keep it up for brand recognition reasons :)

I have a similar problem.

Shapla used to be a favourite too, do they still give a carnation to the ladies

Thought the amount of police on duty had been slashed over the years, they'd have to call in the riot squad

Don't think I know anyone in here but I often partake in a post match beer in the Cremorne.

Royal Standard, usually. Afterwards depends on where's showing the eveing game. Maybe a bit of a crawl up London Road if I'm feeling chipper. Would like to bump into some of yers. I'm sure I already have. I'm usually with my dad and his mate, bringing down the average age of our trio considerably.

I think the issue is that most people have their own set routines - between us on here, as evidenced by this thread, we probably cover all of the usual pre-match haunts.

If anyone ever wants to pop and say hello to myself, Foxy, silverfox, dingledog, Angef1Blade, Mousey, The One etc. you can find us in the Golden Lion.

If you want to meet up, look out in the social section - there's forum football on Sunday mornings, real ale trips, meet ups at away games and Foxy is trying to get a Footgolf sorted before the weather turns.

Stop with the whingeing Tarquin, old chap.
Farquhar, Montague & Peregrine will
be dining this evening at Bartram's in Castle Finnian.

Super.

Spoil the mystique of the adopted nickname ?

It's quite funny when people assume I'm some kind of rare and weird 20-something who just happens to be a big Tom Jones fan, rather than someone who just happens to be called Tom Jones.
