Shooting round social media this evening apparently?

Sources (unknown) claim that United have accepted a bid from Burton for John Brayford and the player is expected to agree terms and link up with Clough.

Nope.

At least not yet anyway :)

Thank God for that.
I was getting worried about United.
We always sell one of our better players every pre-season.

The only question to be asked is have Burton submitted a bid? Because I can't remember us declining an offer in recent history. Even when we did (Harry Maguire) we then went back and said "only kidding chaps of course we put out on a first date"

dont talk rubbish, name a good right back in league 1 that we could sign that is anywhere as good as a fully fit brayford.

George Williams would have been a better option and free. Brayford has been nothing special since we signed him, injury prone and on high wages. If he continues to be injury prone then we're stuck with him until 2018, on high wages and probably in league 1.

If we can get 500k, let him go for me.

We complain about players attitudes and we still are fickle with our thinking . It wasn't that long back We All wanted Brayford as our talisman.

The bloke has been injured and will want to prove something to himself and to us.

He is not a Clough man , he is a Bladesman . Let's build around Brayford and Billy . Ok we may have paid over the odds but what's new . The bloke took a paycut , so let's embrace what he can bring to the team.

We sometimes don't help ourselves , back the bloke not fuck him off.

God help Wilder if we lose three on the spin.

Do you know him?

Brayford would be first name in my team sheet, we all wanted him for a reason, he was brilliant when on loan with us and ok he had a bad injury and came back looking a little cautious, then got another injury before he returned to full fitness, hopefully now, he will get preseason under his belt and come back like a greyhound out of the trap. We can hope anyway!

There m's no doubt Brayford can be a top player - but you have to balance that against the players we can't sign as s result of paying him.

UTB

Or paying Sharp, Basham, Long, Adams, Reed, Calvert-lewin or any of the rest of the team!! Brayford has been a stand out player for us, and will be next season, why sell, probably the best rightback in the league to buy a worse one and a maybe another Hammond/Woolford!??
Wouldn't take the risk personally, but I'm not in charge.

Could you be more precise and tell me when, since we signed him permanently, he's been a stand-out player? Basham has stood out more.

Thing is you see, is that we have seen how good the beard can be and i'm confident he will show that great form again. He's a reyt player and anyone who says different is a fool. He will be well over his injuries and after a good pre season we will see the best of him again.

Where in my comment did it say "since we signed him permanently"??
Whilst he was on loan to us originaly, can you honestly say he wasn't a stand out player?? The same could also be said about the rest, it's taken Sharp 3 attempts to get us behind him.
Who can you honestly say would be better than Brayford for us on the seemingly none existant budget we have?? Bearing in mind we would need to convince them to join on low wages and the fact we are still looking for 2-3 defenders, a midfielder, a wide man and a striker, would you honestly risk starting with NO defence in place whatsoever?

"Brayford has been a stand out player for us"

oh, you meant the bit 2 years ago. Silly me.

For what it's worth, I believe Brayford is better than 75% of the LG 1 fullbacks even whilst trying to regain his fitness and form. He came back to us because we wanted him. If he gets a good pre season and he feels wanted (just don't slate him), I firmly believe he will be the Brayford we want. Trying to sell him on now would be expensive and, let's be honest, when he is on song, there's no one better who would play for us and certainly no one better in LG 1.

And the answer to the questions I asked you!?!?
Atleast I had an answer!! Don't see that it matters when, my fact is still accurate.
Fair enough your not a Brayford fan, but you can't say he isn't a good player on his day, and worth far more than 500k!

We all know what Brayford is capable of and this will be his first pre-season with us. A fit and confident Beard will be a real asset. FFS give Wilder and the team a chance. We've barely been back a week and your like a bear with a sore arse. Relax, take a breath and let's see how things go

Don't be DAFT. Do you think we signed him for owt like that figure. Would be real good business that, he's a class player. Thank god its only your opinion.

Does anyone really think Wilder will have a say in who leaves?

Selling club. Established L1.

Folks dreaming he might be the player he was back in the loan spell, but what if he's s the player that's been here since permanent?

In one of his early interviews, Wilder actually mentioned selling players, and spoke along the lines of not being able to control it. If anyone can be arsed looking for it I'd be most grateful, but it's a comment that stood out to me and I've weirdly remembered it ever since. Unsurprisingly, it's the reason I think we'll keep up the tradition of selling one of our better players before the close of the summer window.
