All rubbish players!

I suspect the majority of Charlton fans' judgement will be clouded by their sheer hatred for their owners.

The fans of most relegated teams won't generally be positive in pre season.

Most of them probably don't realise just how poor L1 is either.

League One is poor, but our neighbours are right to hate their owners. Charlton are not a very together club at all & I think that is key in this division.

I would still put us (Millwall) ahead of them, especially if we resist the urge to cash in on Gregory, and the chairman says it would take silly money & for once we have a chairman you can believe on that. I would put Bradford City and Peterborough ahead of them too.

What about you lot? Is this the year?

Not yet...we're a good 3 or 4 signings (at least) away from challenging I think...

So far no !!

Our Board have short arms and deep pockets and are historically brilliant at talking a good game but failing to deliver, with a variety of really ingenious reasons.

Currently we need about 7 / 8 signings, so this season is unlikely to be the one for us, if things go as they usually do.

UTB & FTP

I swear to god if United say they are even interested in any of the England squad I'm done with them.

Don't worry blade too long has assured us we will spend over £2million and has offered bets which he then ignores when people take him up on it.

We probably will spend that taking into account wages, agents fees and employers NI etc. Not that you will ever be able to prove it so it's a stupid idea to keep pressing the matter.

I agree but blade too long said we would spend that in transfer fees alone before we even consider the net effect of any player sales. I suggested a template whereby undisclosed/ nominal fee = £100k and if there is a reported fee we go with that.

still stands , our board always puts up , always have
just appoint some divs as manager

not this time though
I'll take you up on this but I'd prefer to go with odds.

What odds are you willing to offer on us not spending net £2m or more on transfer fees this window?

Nicky Law to Bradford
George Williams to MK Dons (who really are having a defensive re-shuffle!)

  • Slow movement has been the case across the league.
No club in league 1 has done less business than us, so that comment is utter bollocks. Wilder is getting a lot of good will 'because he's a Blade and wouldn't lie to us' whilst talking more guff than any other recent manager in such a short space of time. I want him to take us up but he's annoying me more than both Nigels after just over a month. Then again it seems the majority on here voted leave so it's unsurprising many believe anything they're told.

"Oh, we aint got a barrel of mon-ey ... "

Um .... that it, really.

pommpey

Looks like Port Vale are becoming Eau de Cologne ,Shrewsbury are becoming Port Vale and there is a competition to find the best name signing from Stevenage. Chris Whelpdale is a poor second to Louis-Michael Yamfam.
Looks like a load of desperation to me.

Chris Taylor has gone to Bolton from Blackburn. Would have been a cracking signing .

p.s. what's on earth is going on with Port Vale. I assume none of their signings has ever seen Stoke.

Hasn't Bruno Ribeiro just taken over there? Doesn't look like he's spent much time in France playing or managing, but presumably he has contacts there or he's just raided the frees in the lower divisions

Other than a couple of Charlton's signings and perhaps Chris Taylor at Bolton, I wouldn't particularly want any of the others at The Lane (ie. I don't think they are better than what we have / will have come the start of the season). There's no stand-out signing amongst them.

I would expect the same will be said about our signings by fans of other clubs. Lower league journeyman and an ageing winger.
