Are we planning on dedicating to missing out on all the best available players, especially on free transfers this season then?

I suppose as long as we leave it late enough, we'll always have enough grounds to drop on to the nice and trusty "need time to gel".

Tafazolli, Beavers, Moncur, Holmes, Novak, Ajose all gone or very close to going to divisional rivals while we sit twiddling our thumbs coming up with stupid excuses like "they're on holiday".

Where's the proof we are sat twiddling our thumbs?

Who representing SUFC has made excuses such as "they're on holiday"?

Charlton have only made 3 signings, 1 more than us.

Wilder has stated we are talking to players and clubs.

Each of us fans has our own panic threshold.

I'm reluctant to criticise the worth of this O.P. though because Barney has strong opinions on such things.

There are about 5 such threads on this topic on just Page1 of General Blades Chat though.

Welcome to your daily meltdown, today presented by Barney, our regular hosts Robbiez666 is on holiday today so Barney will be filling in, todays topic of conversation....

Why have charlton signed every player available and we havent (despite them only signing 1 player more than us)
Why are we waiting for players to come back from holiday (despite no factual evidence to suggest this is the case)
Why are we not signing X/Y/Z player they are obviously the best player the world now they have signed for Parson Cross FC
Why didnt we up our offer for XYZ player to match XYZ club despite there been absolutely no evidence to suggest we were ever interested
Why havent we replaced our fax machine and other much loved jokes

Tune in tomorrow, at the same time, for the same daily meltdown!

Have you a link to the article/interview, will hold my hands up if so.

Where's the proof we are sat twiddling our thumbs?

I think it was a few weeks ago that it was said, maybe even longer, you know, when people were actually on holiday, but we are going to keep dragging it out until the transfer window shuts it seem, I presume it is some witty comical attempt, much like the fax machine jokes.

Erm, in the fact that we've let numerous players of very good league one quality strengthen opposing league one sides? Do you not think a club like United ought to be the ones signing these players? I do, it's how you get promoted would you believe.

Don't have the link but the interview is amongst the forum somewhere if you want to look for it.

I would rather sign the better players, like, the ones in the team of the year, as voted for by professionals etc, not the "good" players, who, errrrr, Barney thinks are good based on seeing errrrr 0 football games and a few twitter kids wanking off over.

I think sign every footballer going don't leave a single one for our rivals .now that would be a wage bill on 500 players some idiots on this board .internet fannys

Tafazolli, Beavers, Moncur, Holmes, Novak, Ajose

Let's have a look then cause it's all abaht opinions in't it!?

Tafazolli's-never played higher than L2+wilder didn't want him as first choice at Northampton.

Beavers-Collins Mk2

Moncur- old decent L1 player looking to improve his wages...not sure he has the desire to fight in a Wilder team

Holmes-again,aging player looking for a big deal for possibly his last big contract..sure he would have been decent...but at what price?

Novak- Personally, I'm not a big fan, but would have done the job Wilder wanted...wasn't/isn't willing to play that role second fiddle to the best striker in the league.

Ajose-decent player..but do we need another midget in the squad?

Er...... you sure about that?

You know what's a thousand times more tiresome than people voicing concerns over good potential signings going elsewhere?

Moaning about anyone voicing those concerns and labelling it "meltdown" when anyone who's paid attention in recent years should know this has cost us every season and should know the importance of signing players early and the impact of losing out to rivals. We have signed two players already and as said earlier in the thread Charlton have only signed 3. Not many players have moved at all just yet so it's not us. I understand your frustration and I feel it too, I think if no deals are done this week then we won't have got our number 1 targets.

So we need 3 cb's, 1 midfielder, 1 winger, 1 back up striker and a reserve ... Give me a big list of players you would have liked us to sign but have gone elsewhere?

Compared to the footstamping want it now overreaction on here, that article and thread is positively upbeat. They seem to have faith that their manager will bring in the right sort of players in good time.

given what they've been through I've surprised they are so upbeat.

They've probably got faith in their technical director Mark Venus.
