from chapeltownWas Woody born in Sheffield? And don't think he was a Blade as lad, could be wrong mind. Stan, Maguire and Marsden were all Wednesday fans as lads so I believe. Sheffield born United fans that haven't been mentioned yet - Bradders, Mitch Ward, Jamie Hoyland, Chris Wilder, 'Super' Jack Lester, 'Queenie' Thompson and Kyle Naughton. Stainrod was another from Sheffield although on the dark side as a lad.
Wasn't Carl Tiler from just over the border, Aston, Anston, Kiveton or somewhere around there?
He was born there, like many others because that's where the maternity home was but he didn't live there.from chapeltown
Born in Chapeltown, lived in Silkstone area during his schooldaysfrom chapeltown
Jeff Eckhardt was from Sheffield, pretty sure he went to Newfield School at Norton Lees.
I think he went to my old school, King Ecgbert. When I used to ask if Eggies had produced any footballers, that was the only answer. No idea who he is, who he played for, or whether he was any good. But there we go.
