Only one club could accidentally leak signing confirmation before they're officially announced. "Is it set to private Brian?" "Sure is Bert." "Just click on publish...."

Lost track of how many players we've signed in recent years that have been impressive for smaller clubs.

This is Sheffield United - a much bigger fish than the likes of Bury and Burton, where expectations are much bigger and the pressure is on.

It's all about how these players adapt and manage this environment. With Wilder at the helm though I'm sure that won't be as much as an issue as it has been previously.

Stop whining.
He'd recently signed a deal at Bury until 2018 so he must have cost a few quid.

And that's the measure of his worth?

I hope you are right. This club has a worrying propensity to sign shit, and people to get all evangelical about it.

pommpey

At least we've got plenty of time to fix the fax machine and get the deals through this time...

Which players are you thinking of? Woolford/Sharp last season that cant be said of, Coutts/Brayford/Basham(arguably)/Freeman the season before

I'd argue weve not signed enough players in recent years who have been impressive for smaller clubs, i can only really think of the likes of Done, Adams, McNulty and Scouggs who have done well or the jouries still out on.

This is one out of left field.

Should be a decent signing.

Seasoned League One performer who's consistently played 40+ games a season. Obviously got plenty of quality going forward too. Bury fans seem to rate him.

Good solid start to our recruitment with him and Duffy.

Left side looks strong. Brayford and AN Other on the right. Couple of centre halves and a CM and we're almost done.

28 years old and proven. Not exactly the youthful renaissance but dead sound.

Hussey signing getting more comments than Duffy's not sure of the significance of that! :)

So he's a great crosser but suspect defensively. Will he be better than Bob? His crossing was brilliant. That was one of Adkins' more bizarre decisions, sending Harris out on loan and then trying a formation with wing-backs for the first time in the very next game.
This should be the criteria he is judged on

The likes of Taylor, Brandy, Westlake, Higdon, Alcock, J. Wallace are the first half dozen that spring to mind. Surely some others too.

Just had a chat with his brother Wayne..

I asked him what he thought he'd bring to SUFC.

Although he was fairly happy at Bury, it was a bit of a footballing wasteland, so when United came in and showed interest,
there was no second thought. Told him that the manager was a tower of strength, when describing how he wanted him to
play at SUFC and he felt like a child again, he was that excited.

Let's hope there's plenty of deliverance in this and the other signing tonight.

One league one player I've rated for a while but never thought we'd sign. One of the better left flankers in this division with a great left foot. Looks like Billy, Che, Sparky and co will be getting some ammunition next season. 20 assists between him and Duffy last year.

Out of those I would suggest only Brandy could be considered in a similar vain to these two of being exciting seasons and up there with the best in their position for this division.

Taylor had a good reputation in Scotland but nothing in this division, same for Higdon in the Netherlands. Westlake didn't have glowing reviews. Alcock similarly, not great reviews, just 'steady'. And Wallace the issue was always going to be injuries, not quality.

The first rule about WHF is that no one talks about WHF.

I have a load more respect for WHF and his belief in somebody which is far better than being a perpetual and negative slasher, always there to drive wedges between the fans and the club. Some on here could not be more negative if they were Wendy insurgents. Give me WHF instead of them any day; proper fan with hope and optimism. He feels sadly let down at present but please come back fellow Blade, we miss your positivity and we might just be on the 'upward curve' for once.

Also has to be said that with these two signings we're doing exactly what we've been asking for - signing the best players in our division. Duffy and Hussey are both up there in their respective positions.
