Its quite telling that of the 10 players released there hasn't been one who's signed elsewhere.

Also see no ones snapped that fucking donkey Sammon up yet.

That wage theif Cuvelier will never play football again and his treatment table pal
Wallace will be following him this time next year after he's stolen another years wages off us (thanks Clough you cunt)

I sincerely hope these cunts all look back on what a wasted opportunity they've passed up and explain to their families their lack of pride, professionalism and being lazy heartless bastards is the reason they've been dumped on the dole.

When I think back over the last 3 years I just get angry with all the gutless performances I've witnessed

In future years this dark period of our history will be classed as worse than when we went down to the 4th!

It's early doors yet and I suspect the majority will have pre season trials with various tinpot outfits which might be the time one or two fall to reality with a bump and realise they aren't the superstars they might have thought they were

Northwich Victoria are cracking open the penny jar as we speak.

Why do you call Cuvellier a wage thief, he got a serious injury doing his job whilst being employed by the club his previous injury record was not a problem
Im sure if you got injured / had an accident whilst carrying out your employment you would want paying If your employer didnt pay up Im pretty sure youd be the first on the phone to Injury Lawyers for You

Wallace is totally different he had a bad injury record before he came here giving him a 3 year contract on decent money was sheer lunacy from United

Pointless, worthless O.P. and the writer should hope he never gets an illness or injury that threatens his ability to earn a salary. No doubt his employer at the time would honour the contractual duties to provide him with income during his incapacity though.

I think a simple "shite" would cover it for each of the long list of players released / listed.

Oh yeah it's the fans fault - I presume you're upset to see them leave and we should have given Cuvelier a 2 year deal.

If I get an illness in my employment im pretty sure I wouldn't be paid in full for 2 years. But I'll bear in mind to call Injury lawyers for you!

Why is it pointless post Woodwardfan ? It's to do with players who played for SUFC and this is a forum to discuss such matters.

dark times indeed, we need some fans to get out of the gutter.

Its easy to say that, but when the Club has been run in such a piss-poor manner for many years and the players who have been signed / retained have been of such poor quality, character and effectiveness; its not surprising to see that large numbers of supporters are annoyed, disillusioned and bitter.

Contrary to certain statements, the long-suffering supporters of SUFC have demonstrated a loyalty and resilience that Clubs in the Championship and Premiership would love to have. They have attended in numbers that, quite frankly, the Club and players do not deserve to enjoy and both Club and players should hang their heads in shame at their lack of response to the supporters loyalty.

Blades supporters have delivered their investment into the Club year after year, through bad times and appalling times and they deserve so much better than the blinkered, disjointed and naïve approach demonstrated by the Board and the gutless, unprofessional and self indulging efforts by the players.

Over to you now Board, new manager and playing staff ......... your turn to deliver the goods !!

I'm fucking sick of the snide comments and accusations.

I'm angry I've continued to support the club attended as often as possible and had some of the worst players ever turn out.

Yet i dish a bit of criticism out to folk who've earned more in 3 years than I'll ever earn and I'm the bad cunt.

Think Cuvelier has been badly managed by coaching staff. Came here like a thoroughbred racehorse with silky skills who didn't show in a game as much as he should, but had potential. Had a bad injury on loan and must have spent all his time in the gym. Now a pumped up cart horse with a touch to match. Hope Che Adams isn't going the same way as he's got slower as he's bulked up.

dark times indeed, we need some fans to get out of the gutter.

Fans are not in the gutter , it's just sheer frustration of the lunacy at BDTBL with some of the players contracts when known to be injury prone or not fully fit for the task in hand of a gruelling 46 game season.

I wish silly fuckers on here would stop blaming fans . Every Blade as the right to a opinion , even if it's off the wall , way off the mark.

We know the lengths of contracts , but do not know the actual salary per week . The salaries / Contracts could not have included big add on money for wins , league position , promotion or the fuckers would have wanted to play even with a broken leg.

The blame lays at the feet of the Board , Managing Director , Chairman , Manager . The players are only pawns in this sorry state of affairs .

It's like a mini Leeds United under Peter Risdale , when that player from Derby County went to Leeds with his agent , with the intention of taking nothing less than £17.5k per week . Leeds tabled £37.5k for the opening offer.
The player rightly agreed and signed on the dotted line.

Yes our players have been wank , below par , not good enough , unprofessional , lack of commitment from day one at Gillingham .

There is still a large number of people in the back of house , employed at the lane. , who want sacking or need to walk , due to the financial mess we are in but they won't , because like us they rely on McCabe for a living.

No point blaming it on the players no matter how much they are paid, they were scouted and employed by management who are equally well paid and expected to know what they're doing. If you get a serious injury at work your employer can't just throw you on the scrap heap

Like Wallace and others , he was just not fit enough . What is the due diligence at the lane on players medical . I can see us taking a punt on one player , with a 1 year contract , but we have too many players , who the club have had to carry . What is done is done . McCabe and Company have to learn from this .

Anybody would think they were brown envelopes floating around with some of the decisions made. They weren't made for footballing reasons.

LS26BLADE has it spot on.

Long term injured players aside, these cunts have shown nothing but contempt for this club, both in their gutless, lazy "displays" on the pitch and twattish conduct off of it.

This was the best opportunity most of them ever had and they shat on it.
I said just after the released list came out that I hope these fucking wasters take one last look at the ground as they leave, and realise how badly they fucked it up.

I genuinely and sincerely wish them nothing but failure long after they've left here.

On another matter than players salaries , contracts , does any of us know if we have a fish tank in the board room , as that other famous Yorkshire club , who squandered money , like it was going out of fashion.

OK. You called the 11 players lazy, gutless, wage thiefs and heartless bastards lacking professional pride:

The cheats you referred to were Sammon and J.Wallace plus the 10 released players:

Players who would never be accused of not trying to the best of their abilities to my knowledge:

Hammond
Flynn
Harris
Campbell-Ryce
McEveley
Kennedy
McGahey
McFadzean

J.Wallace and Cuvelier have had serious injury problems which have affected their ability to work. So too has Kennedy.

Baxter is a sad case of a lad who is choosing to ruin his ability to earn a football salary, not physically injured but mentally maybe. Maybe he is the only one who deserves your comments in the O.P.

Question players' ability and the managers for signing them by all means but not what you said.

As for none of them being snapped up by another club, nor have we signed a single player yet, so everybody has time at this time of year.

I do think the O.P. is pointless and worthless but I do notice you have a couple of 'likes' so I withdraw the pointless comment.;)

I never said "it was the fans' fault" of course, just your fault LS:(

26.

Cuvelier picked his injury up at Port Vale whilst he was out on loan after he couldn't get in the first team, and this happened 4 months after he signed for us.

He signed for Port Vale after he couldn't even get in to our first team, after he had been rightfully dropped after a series of awful, mediocre performances that showed the expenditure on his wages and transfer fee to be a complete and utter waste of money.

He has had 2 and a half years to get fit after his injury, which he hasn't been able to do, if I had 2 and a half years on the sick at work I would have been paid up and sacked but then again I live in the real world, not the cosseted world of professional football.

In his occasional and sporadic performances Cuvelier has looked overweight and lethargic, and having seen the vast majority of his performances he looks like he is a Evo-Stick league standard player.

People might not be happy at the OP calling him out amongst others, but the overwhelming evidence is that he has been handsome rewarded in the last 3 years whilst giving very little back in return, I'm delighted that he is no longer an employee of Sheffield United. I would say professional footballer but i wouldn't even be sure that he was good enough to be described as one.

He was part of the problem, and the people who accept the likes of Cuvelier happily claiming a wage for doing very little are an even bigger part of the problem

Take your point and acknowledge your anger (rightfully in my opinion) but it is over the top to call players injured wage thieves. Problem I have is the serial fuck ups are still at the club, running the shop. But I expect WWF will be along in a minute to tell me I should just thank my lucky stars we have someone as forward thinking as McCabe and Prince (not the dead one of course) running the club.

I am deeply concerned we have taken Wilder on under false pretences and will fuck up yet another managers career. We are a basket case club run by idiots, no matter how well meaning.

The season hasn't even finished yet.

Have a look at the players that have agreed deals so far - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/transfers i've heard of about 3 players on there. Some players and managers are on holiday, give it time.

As Woodwardfan pointed out Cuvelier and Wallace aren't "wage thieves". They have been unfortunate and got injured, that's not their fault.

Clough shouldn't have given Wallace the length of contract he did given his previous injuries. That's Clough's fault, not Wallace's.
Cuvelier has been incredibly unlucky. He came back then got injured again, it must be so difficult for them. All they want to do is play the game they love and do their 'job'.

Is Brayford a wage thief??

Whilst they're "released" I don't think that they can sign for another club until 1st June (or at least after the play offs). The season hasn't finished yet and I think the transfer window is still closed.

We still hold their registration until this date and whilst we've issued our released and retained lists, it's to allow other clubs to be alerted and see which players are going to be up for grabs this summer.

In theory, if teams could sign players now they would be able to sign them for the play offs on a short term loan etc. The other issue is that teams often don't like to start paying players just to go on holiday for 2-3 weeks at the end of the season...

Some of them have been on holiday for 2-3 years.
And some seriously injured.

The sad thing is that we've brought in cheaper and shitter replacements for the injured players during this time

I don't have any issues with the injured players, it's the players who've played and been awful which piss me off
