What happens to them now?
Freeman
K. Wallace
J. Wallace
Hammond
Coutts
Woolford
De Girolamo

I can't see anyone taking Coutts with the stupid wages we pay him. Given how much Adkins' and others raved about Hammond's attitude does anyone else think he's going to try and win a place back in the team? I doubt Freeman is on little money either. What happens to this lot if they stay? Do they train with the kids?

I can't believe that we gave J. Wallace a 3 year deal, I know it was an optional extension but the club should have been in control of that, not the player.

In honesty, out of that lot I can only see Diego busting a gut to try & make it back in from the cold. Last Chance Saloon time for him here. No away games in Sardinia with Juve, just Gainsborough Trinity in the driving sleet (if he's lucky) if he doesn't work his bollocks off & quit the sniping.

Of the others, the Wallaces are crocks. Hammond & Woolford know they're disliked and are probably terrified of stepping out on the pitch now. Coutts & Freeman are Clough's men, hardly known for their spirit & heart, just waiting for Clough's call.

No John-Joe O'Toole situations expected.

Think they may have had Coutts in League one but not sure Championship. The Cloughs are aware that he's played rubbis this season.

I can see Freeman getting picked up, I don't think he is as bad as many are making out. All about opinions of course.

I would have thought we'd not have too much of a problem offloading K. Wallace, Freeman and DeGirolamo as they won't be on big wages.

I'd guess they are on ~£5kp/w combined, which worryingly is probably only a fifth of the combined wages of the other 3.

Let's not forget, we're currently a mid level league 1 team. There's not much further some of these players can drop before they're giving our soap samples in meadowhall!

I think K.Wallace and Freeman have upside to come in their careers. I'm surprised they have been listed but that can be reversed if the players are given a chance to show their mettle. On the other hand they may be transferred away before that happens, unlikely though.

I think its a smart and almost old fashioned move by Wilder to put those players on the transfer list. I can't remember very often over previous years when a player has been "transfer listed", sent out on loan yes, but never the humiliation of letting everyone know your not wanted by being transfer listed.

It will give some of these players like Freeman, Diego and maybe a K. Wallace a kick up the back side and maybe they'll turn it around.

With the likes of Coutts, Hammond and Woodford, it sets the tone to the rest of the squad that mediocrity won't be accepted, and also shows that Wilder won't accept slow, lumbering players that offer nothing.

Whether anyone will come in for them who knows, but I think after a few months of practicing on their own away from the squad they'll be desperate to get out of the club, even if its on loan.

This situation of You are on the transfer list , may just give the players a kick up the arse they need. Forget supposedly talent , the majority of them players , to me have shown contempt and arrogance , when being a little humble may well have helped them , even if crocked.

If that were the case you would think he had been busting a gut to get into and stay in the team in the first place. What amazes me is that Juve were ever in the least bit interested in some kid who couldn't cut it in the third division of English Football. Oh hang on they weren't.

Someone will take a punt on Freeman, K Wallace and Diego.

People would be nuts to buy any of the rest.

Nick Montgomery used to get transfer listed all the time, he stayed at least 5 years after the first time. None of them are any great loss, but if any of them put in the amount of effort Monty did they could still be useful players at this level. I wouldn't be that surprised if some of the released players ended up still here next year on reduced terms, released players regularly train with their former clubs in pre-season and we need both an entirely new defence and a second string new defence.

I thought this. Hammond 'could' offer something if played correctly. He has a lot of grovelling to do though

As it stands, he has gone beyond the point of no return with the fans and will take a lot more than grovelling. I can't see any way back for him unless he transforms into a Messi/Ronaldo rolled into one incarnate....and even then some more!

I don't think Hammond as it in him , or will think he needs to grovel . After all he is a low end millionaire footballer , who will get paid by a sheffield United Football Club , whether he sits on his arse or he doesn't . He will have time on his hands to study for his coaching badges .

The bloke has us somewhat over a barrel with McCabe and the technical board individuals taking turns to be inside the barrel. . Hammond has given them all a good rogering .

I always liked Freeman. Not sure about his defending but He always looked good when attacking and I always thought he would have been better as a wide mid field player.

I was surprised with Coutts and Diego being listed but this should show that Diego clearly is - A, shit. Or B, a tosser. This is now the 4th manager that won't play him. Wilder also had him on loan 'briefly' so clearly he's made his mind up.

My suspicion remains that, like so many other youth players that should definitely have been in the first team, he's just not very good.

I'd try to list them all but the first few that come to mind from the recent past are Ironside, McFadzean, McAllister, Slew, all should've been in the first team, all were to be the next big thing, not one of them has done anything of note in professional football (McAllister being the most successful, I suppose). And then inevitably a reason comes up like attitude, or moved to a big club too soon, that conveniently means those that were crowing about said player weren't really wrong after all. And then we move onto the next youth prospect.

We've paid off Shammond & Diego. We are about to pay off Woeful. We will claim on the insurance for J.Wallace as an irreparable write-off. That's four.
Freeman & K. Wallace might be kept as new/improved articles , whether they are or not.
Courts is a slow mover so we don't need a top assassin , any fucker in my local could shoot him.
Job done.
