Driving home this morning after nightshift and Kev was on pig radio, laying into Adkins for the crap signings. He excluded Billy. Sounded like signings played a big part in his sacking.

He says this with each manager, why doesn't he do something about it.. You know, before they are signed?

Didn't take it all in, as just done 13 1/2 hours on nights, just caught that bit. May have been part of an earlier interview with Kev, didn't sound to me as though they parted as friends from the tone.

Like most said on a similar recent thread, McCabe is in no position whatever to criticise others. He'll never take responsibility though, will he?

Im sure he said that he has made mistakes when on the fans forum?

Adkins signings are just one of many reasons why he deserved the sack.
I struggle to think of anything good he did, other than sign Sharp and take Baptise on loan. This was however hardly inspired management, as anyone with any football knowledge would have realised that Sharp would score goals at League One level and Baptise was hardly a great discovery, as he is a proven player who has played at a higher level. Both are not players that were hidden gems that nobody knew about. Great management skills/scouting network were not required to unearth these two
The appointment of Adkins pal as head scout/head of recruitment was another disaster, as he contributed nothing as he took a wage from the club.

Biggest theft of wages Hammond, Woolford, Adkins or our Chief Scout ? I'm not sure

although no doubt Nigel will endeavour to stay friends....

Bloody hell man your obsession knows no bounds!

And you tried pushing that "The head scout was signed purely because they were mates" bulllshit earlier on in the week and it was pulled up for the utter bullshit it was back then.

Well now we know why McCabe was so scathing! Mind you, someone at the top will have had to sanction the Hammond "deal".

Hate to think how much the invisible man will be paid to sit around...
don't worry .. he will be invisible. doing invisible 'stuff'

Feeling fit birds up without getting caught. Not that I'd do that if I was invisible. I'd be hiding in Christa Ackroyd's wardrobe. Mind you, if I was invisible I wouldn't need to hide, would I?

Where's that mad professor gone?

Never our Kevs fault is it.

He's just the guy who fires and fires all the others. I guess malevolent sprites do all the rest while we are asleep

There has been one consistent throughout our demise, Kev "Kneejerk" McCabe. I am sick and tired of hearing him blame others, Lets consider his approach to running Sheffield United.

1. Sacking the manager on an annual basis due to lack of success. Utter stupidity both in the timing of those decisions and the sheer fact that the next man is lumbered with the previous incumbents squad and has to start again. This means he doesn't deliver instant success, hence he gets sacked. McCabe beats on about people not living up to their CV's, but he appoints them, so may be he needs to review his recruitment strategy. All of this means that there is no long term plan at the club other than stupid marketing lines such as "The Prem in 5 years".

2. We seem to have a similar situation with the role of MD. This is nearly as poisoned a chalice as the role of manager, We have been through numerous MD's, again how do we develop a long term plan. Appoint somebody with a football background (not fookin property) and let them do the job.

3. Fancy committees for recruiting players. I am sorry, but what the fook is that about? Committees do not work, again have a defined person and process to work with the manager to recruit players. Make them accountable and have simple common sense rules around contractual clauses, players age etc.

4. Tell it as it is and stop bullshitting the fans. I don't want fans forums and spin, I just want some honesty and as a fan I will back the club. This fairy tale about investing once we get to the championship feels to me, like a smokescreen for the pot is empty and we are not going to recruit players if any kind of fee applies. Now we have the line of developing Youth, a line that Kev has revived from a few years ago. But is anther clue to our forthcoming recruitment policy.

5. Stop selling the family silver. Not that there is much silver left, but when you look at the annual early season sales of our best player and the depletion of our best players since relegation and it is a clear factor in where we are. And I am sorry, if somebody is under contract, we can resist a sale.

I really like Chris Wilder and I sincerely hope that he is backed in his attempt to rebuild the squad. He has made a good start by shipping out the deadwood. I fear however he (along with Travis Binnion) is just the latest puppet that Kev can wheel out at meetings and use all hs tired old cliches with, hey Sheeff Younited, hey Knows The club, Hey Blah blah blah.

I am excited for the new season and a new look team, but in my heart of hearts I genuinely do not think that we will make any great strides as a football club whilst Mr McCabe is at the helm, sadly I cannot see a situation where it will financially induce him to leave.
