All three look miles ahead of the likes of Whiteman, DCL and others that I have seen from the academy.
I personally would give a new deal to McGahey, another young player not given a chance by Adkins. He dropped him after he had done nothing wrong. He looked like he had improved to me and has the potential to become a regular, if given the chance. Yes, we need two big cente backs, however he should be retained and if he breaks into the team kept in. Although I rate Kennedy, McGahey does not have the same injury problems that Kennedy has, so may be the better option of the two, if one is to be retained.

If we don't transfer list Scougal; I, for one, will be gutted.

Say it's most of the out of contract played gone, how much do we reckon that is a week saved in wages.

Must be enough to to get 3 genuine quality players at this level.

About 40k p/w, not including the loans.

That saving alone is enough to pay the wages of at least 7 quality L1 players.

Factor in the loans as well and that's probably a further 35k p/w.

It's a lot of room for manoeuvre.

That's got to be one sound reason for kicking out the shite that have proved they ain't good enough.

Build a fresh new side with some pace and drive.

Clear the decks let wilder bring his own lads in who aren't tarred with failure.

Yep, the platform is there now. As I've said many times, the club just need to commit properly to rebuilding the squad. If they do then there's no reason our fortunes can't change very quickly. Especially as we've got a manager who seems capable of changing things for the better in a short space of time. Start working on deals ASAP, no fucking about waiting for any player all summer, no petty squabbling over pennies, pay good players what it takes (within reason) to sign for us, pay agents fees when necessary. The abundance of good free agents available should make things easier.
 
The fact that a bucket load of quality league 1 players are out of contract should help us rebuild the squad, and with the amount of deadwood we are getting rid of might mean that we even reduce the wage bill while we're at it! Things looking up?
 
Just rip it up and start again. Che, Billy, Beard and Long plus the players Wilder wants. This gives us a fighting chance of ridding the stench of failure from the club. Just a shame McCabe isn't out of contract as well.

Judging by the way one or two are talking in addition to McCabe's comments it does sound like some may be paid off.

Who will it be then?

I'll say Woolford and J Wallace if he's still got another year. Maybe K Wallace too due to injury problems.

Coutts and Freeman could be loaned out and we could save money in that way.
 



If it's true, I suspect if you factor in Adkins & his Staff pay offs McCabe won't have got much change from £1.5 to £2m this last month. :eek:

Finishing the worst we've finished in 33 years, and being payed the most out of anybody in the league. I'll be honest, I think McCabe has never been this pissed off, they've literally taken this piss this year, the signs started to show when Baxter was suspended and McCabe didn't offer any protection in the subsequent interview. The penny has finally dropped, no more taking the piss now.
