The released list?

What slightly encourages me that he'll make the right sensible choices is based on this very Adkins-esque snippet below. We'll never know for sure what Adkins had intended with this list, but my sense was that we'd have seen two or three max retained, with a quite significant ditching of the injury-prone.

Like Adkins, Wilder wants:

– "a vibrant, energetic and powerful team that wants to win games of football"
– to be "going after teams"
– to be "positive in everything we do...but it has to be [united] together"

We can't really do any of the above with players whose bodies won't allow them to play more than 10 games a season.

Fuck what Adkins intended. . . . . He gone.
He got sacked because he couldn't fashion a winning team from "43 professional footballers"
If there was a transfer embargo placed on the club tomorrow. I'd wager that Wilder would do better with the same players, than the Scouse headmaster did.

It's not worked for him for 2/3rds of this season and he's clearly devoid of confidence and even struggled at pompey but there's a player in Freeman. He was one of our only sparks early season and for me has been better than the beard in their second spells here.

Pointless getting rid of him when our replacement won't be much if any better. Keep him, play him in pre season, rebuild his confidence.
If McNulty is willing to shed the losers he calls his mates it's the same for him. Except he was never devoid of confidence, just had an inflated ego.

I've said my peace on McNulty before, but they are two I am willing to give a clean slate to, we're losing enough of the losers to take a risk on two young lads. They just need direction.

Good squad players and cut's unnecessary extra work, WIlder's got his hands full as it is!

It all depends on attitudes for those two. There’s been plenty of murmurings of poor attitudes with both of them. If they’re upsetting the dressing room, they have to go. If they have the right attitude, there is enough potential to make them worth keeping. I won’t lose too much sleep over either of them.

I would imagine that anyone who disrupts the dressing room under Wilder will be gone before they can clear their lockers. Strikes me as a man who doesn't suffer fools at all, let alone gladly.

Ché Adams might end up out of the team a few more times next season.

"Paul, it's the wizard of Oz... They say you need a heart, brain and courage which we can discuss by there's absolutely fuck all I can do fit your lack of legs and endeavour.."

"Paul?.......it's your Agent......yeah good mate, you?.........listen I talked to the club today.....yes mate, they confirmed it, sorry.......the crowd are not shouting "COUUUTTTTSSSS", ...no mate, they are in fact shouting "BOOOOOOOOOOOOO".......[line clicks dead]....hello?.........Paul?"

MStephenson intimating Wilder has been ruthless if I've read it right

Which hopefully means some are bring payed up...which I think McCabe intimated at?

McCabe payed off Collins and yes he also intimated at the Fan meeting or corporate meeting (or both) that he was going to have to pay people up, because they would not leave and no one would be coming in for them.

If true then that's promising and we're in for an interesting summer.

This is the first part of what we've all been waiting for all season. Hopefully the club won't try and cheapskate their way through the second part too much.

But just how feasible is it to release most, if not all, of the team? Is it possible to recruit and sign enough players in the summer to allow him to do it - and how much balls does it take to do it before you've got the signings lined up? Under Adkins, I was sure it wouldn't happen. Now I've no idea.

Its not only feasible but its crucial IF we are intending to challenge in a serious way for the top two places next season.

Our out-of-contract players have proven, time and time again that they CANNOT deliver the goods in this Division ..... that's the acid test.

Get them out now .......
