Are we going to be the last club with nothing to play for to release it?

Come on Chris to use your own phrase "no fannying about"

Wilder said he already has studied the squad and what players are moving out. Just have to wait and see

If some decisions have been changed on who is leaving and who is going, then the players also need to know and maybe change their minds too before anything is announced.

CW is in the know regarding our players. I heard him say on saturday ' its a big job, we've got some really s**t players' or worse to that effect. I think thats a fairly accurate summary of our squad

That's class, where did he say that?

Heard the deadline to submit it to the Football League isn't until Saturday, though you'd hope it'd be sorted well before then.

I'm happy to wait an extra week if at the end of it we have the right players on the very substantial released list. What I'd like is a consistent approach – if we're correctly getting shut of injury-prone squad-fillers like Wallace, Cuvelier and Harris we can hardly be sentimental and keep Kennedy around. I'm hoping the delay is due to reducing people from the retained list, not adding to it.

It takes a while to sort out compensation packages for paying up some players contracts...i hope that's the reason anyway

I think, youth apart, we'll be keeping 3 first team players absolutely maximum. And that's arguably too many...

He can't get rid of everbody before he brings people in. He might not get all his target players. It should be a bit more scientific: 1 young talent in = 3 wasters out

What slightly encourages me that he'll make the right sensible choices is based on this very Adkins-esque snippet below. We'll never know for sure what Adkins had intended with this list, but my sense was that we'd have seen two or three max retained, with a quite significant ditching of the injury-prone.

Like Adkins, Wilder wants:

– "a vibrant, energetic and powerful team that wants to win games of football"
– to be "going after teams"
– to be "positive in everything we do...but it has to be [united] together"

We can't really do any of the above with players whose bodies won't allow them to play more than 10 games a season.
