What's the hold up?

I doubt many other clubs are blessed with the same combination of massive underachievement and a large amount of expiring contracts either.

We're a prime example of a club who need to act fast. Especially if we're changing managers.
 
Preston North End have released seven players and offered a new deal to midfielder Josh Brownhill.

Australian midfielder Neil Kilkenny and former England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland will be allowed to leave.

Kyel Reid and Andy Little, who spent time out on loan this term, as well as youngsters Jack Ryan, Nick Anderton and Josh Heaton will also be let go

Most worrying thing is any potential new manager dishing out clean slates.

Yeah but just cause we've had too many managers doesn't mean we shouldn't sack this one, remember. And if we get someone else in it'll definitely work and it's a great solution to everything all the time regardless of how it's worked in the past.

Blades - stutter around for 3 weeks, retain Hammond, McGahey, Flynn among others. Wait about a month to start thinking about making some signings, then another chasing Dan Burn followed by a few panic buys of expensive Championship players that turn out to be total shit. 50% academy players forced in, ready or not. Relegation battle promptly follows.

You know it makes sense.

Be interesting to see how quickly we act in comparison with the other 17 clubs without any further interest in promotion.

I'd guess we'll be about 15th to make an announcement.
