I don't agree that it was a stronger division last year, we needed less points to make the play offs for starters.

Are you serious last year there was Bristol, MK and Preston, who went up. All of them stronger than any of the teams in the league this season. Look at the relegated teams apart from Yeovil the other 3 teams would all have stayed up with their points tally!! I think it is universally agreed that this league has been the weakest since we have been in this god forsaken league!

No idea why he was sacked. Think it was probably a mistake for the club.
But Clough managed his football team as though he was more afraid of losing rather than wanting to win by playing better. So I wasn't sorry to see him go. Wouldn't want to watch a Clough team every other week for another season even if we did scrape the playoffs.
Adkins promised to be different, but has dissappointed thus far. Got to give him next season though.

Hasslebank 41 points in 20 games. Just over 2 points per game. At this rate if he had continued they would have finished on 94 and romped the league as Champions.

Clough 44 points in 26 games 1.69points per game. At this rate over the whole season they would have 77.8 and finished 6th.

Do tell me how this is Clough doing a great job?

Burton sold their best player, El Khayati, to QPR in January and have operated with probably the smallest squad in the division. I think automatic promotion's a tremendous achievement under those circumstances.

No it's not! It's about a ridiculous decision to sack a manager after one full season when he improved on the season before bearing in mind he came in half way through when we were in total meltdown. Obviously to the people who genuinely hate clough the cup runs which will have brought a few million into the club are not allowed to be used in the argument.
This thread isn't about sacking Adkins to be fair I think the majority would accept giving him another year the same people who thought clough should have got another year.
The way people talk about clough is astounding we have had managers who have relegated us who doesn't get the amount of hatred clough does. Micky Adams is a saint compared to clough. Wonder how clough will get blamed next year if we don't have a good season?
