Can't see any details on our ever marvellous website so does anyone on here know whether you need to go down beforehand to get tickets?
I take it there are no cash turnstiles?
Which stand(s) is/are open?
Quite a bit of interest for this game, be nice if the club engaged with that interest and made it as simple as possible to get people in.

Thanks Swiss.
Not clear from that which stands are open or whether you can pay on the night.
This is one game it would make sense to have cash turnstiles but am I right in thinking we don't have any?

Get in touch with our supporters liason officer Leonard.

I know that even ST holders have to get a paper ticket for the game.
The South stand middle sections are open, I only know that because that where my ticket is.

True, but it seems to be a different type of game altogether, I read something the other week about they need to know the numbers to expect in advance so can't do pay on the gate (or something like this)

There does seem to be a lot of interest though

Nah, I'm thinking a football club trying to attract supporters after this kind of season will do all it can to promote a tiny glimmer of hope and will give clear details of how to get tickets or pay on the night.
Probably just an oversight after being deluged with tens of season ticket applications.

Yes you do need to get a ticket in advance, South Stand is open think they're now moving out from central areas, think my two are gangway B. I think there is simply no way they can have cash turnstiles as tickets need to be issued for Health and Safety.

I think we actually don't have any cash turnstiles? But it's nothing to do with H&S because you'd still give someone a ticket if they paid by cash.
They're probably not saying much because they don't want to open another stand.

As a season ticket holder Len, you get a free ticket. You can either pop down or call the number. (As the merekat's say) Simples.

I see what you are doing though. The usual beat the club with a stick. It's interesting to see how your arguments have developed and you have probed and proded from many different angles. Very intelligent. I can imagine with all the negativity it's been difficult to find an angle to wind people up. I take my hat off to you though, as you come up with stuff time and time again.

The bait is out "Nah, I'm thinking a football club trying to attract supporters after this kind of season will do all it can to promote a tiny glimmer of hope and will give clear details of how to get tickets or pay on the night". But will anyone bit? Swiss?

I wasn't planning to bite Ollie, Lenners is posting some good, sensible stuff at the moment, leaving a lot of the finger pointing aside, but for a man normally so well researched in his posts, he couldn't find this info... I wasn't sure how to read this thread. So I gave the info as I saw it and left alone the potential dig at the club.

I thought it was odd that Lenners had missed this one about the tickets, it took two quick searches on the OS, one in tickets - no joy. Second in the Team>Academy - Ticket Info found.

I also don't know if the club is giving this enough attention, its more than we'd normally get for an Academy game at least. But I haven't looked at how much attention Villa, Man U or Chelsea have given this. Perhaps there are FA restrictions on tickets, i don't know.

For me, this should be targeted at the potential season ticket buyers for next season, afterall these are the players of next season and it gives a preview of next year...

No Olle, I'm afraid you can't see much if that's what you think.
The club should be proud of the kids' achievements and promoting the one sliver of success we've had.
It's the next home match at the Lane and they should be encouraging as many people as possible to go.
Free tickets for schools should have been on the agenda and the ticket arrangements should be a permanent fixture on the home page.
It's not rocket science but the club's marketing is, as usual, appalling.

Len, make sure you ask them for a ticket for the after match event, when they auction em off .........

Again Lenners, there may be FA guidelines on the ticketing as per the FA cup...

I suspect it's more a case of trying to ensure they only need to open one stand with all the stewarding and catering staff that entails. The nightmare scenario is that another 200 want to get in and the club will not want the huge embarassment/pr own goal of turning them away or that the club is brave enough to open both sides but end up with the 5000 odd who pitched up for the friendly.

Why you no look elswhere you naughty Len. A seasoned poster like you should know better.

Not enough change down the back of the sofa. I notice Harry's not remotely tempted by £10m for some nomark we flogged after five games the other year.

Last round against Blackpool, they had people outside turnstiles selling the tickets, so they became cash turnstiles, I see no reason that won't be the case again! Get down and enjoy the football Len, theres no excuse.

UTB

Well Lenners you have the notice, you know that you can get a free ticket if you go down with your season ticket, or pay with pennies if not. But at this time you can't pay on the night.

Any excuses to miss this one or are you sticking with the loophole you found where you can beat the club again :)

I just rang 0871 995 1889. Option 3. James Morrison for ten minutes. "I'd like a ticket for the Youth Cup match v Villa please. My season ticket number is xxxx".
"No problem, your seat number is yyyy and we'll send your ticket through the post". Couldn't be simpler really.
First time the Youth team has reached this stage since I was 4. Who knows when they'll reach it again?
They deserve our support and I might actually get to see a Blades team win a Cup Semi-Final!

Meanwhile back in the real world outside of the internet forum thousands of Blades (some of them True Blades) who may be vaguely aware that the kids are doing quite well are strangely enough not undertaking searches of the club website to try and find out ticket details.

Maybe we need to develop another category of Blade - Super Blade - which we should all aspire to being.

IN the meantime maybe United should pull their finger out and realise that if you are going to base your future strategy of ST sales and club progression on the basis that we are going to produce some good kids for the first team soon - then they should be moving heaven and earth to get a good crowd for this match.

Absolutely agree Tunsy. Top stuff. Poeple laugh about advertising in The Star but this would be ideal in my opinion and a couple of posters on major roads into town.

Just remember though, there are possibly some FA guidelines at play.

Perhaps he has taken over in bloodless coup sometime between starting this thread and the O/S main page page being updated.

Like I alluded to earlier in this thread Tuns/ Mic, I would think intelligent True Blades should be able to negotiate even the minefield that is the OS to find information such as this. So many of you manage to do your research using such places as the Land registry, companies house and heck, you've even been known to flick through the "Annual Accounts" or get information from sources such as a mate of a mate who's mate said McCabe bums goats... But finding tickets to the Youth Cup Semi is stumping you...

Does this scenario sound familiar

True Blade 1: Ave you heard that the Blades Kids are in the Youth Cup Semi?
True Blade 2: No
TB1: They are and they're playing at the lane soon!
TB2: When?
1: Dunno
2: Shall we go?
1: Yeah:
2: Get tickets then? Use that 'Inter' thing
1: Inter Milan?
2: No, Internet
1: Ahhh whats the address www.sufc.co.uk
2: Ok i'm in, front page says something about Ched Evans... Can't find anything about tickets.
1: Try looking at Academy or Ticket sections
2: Is that the sections which has the stuff about Academy or Tickets?
1: Dunno, I doubt it
2: I don't think i'll try it just in case. Oh well I guess we'll never get chance to watch this game then. The club are so shit.
1: We could try to call the ticket office.
2: What good would that do?
1: They might tell us how to obtain tickets in a fast and simple way
2: I don't trust the telephone. Aliens might be listening
1: Shit yeah! Or McCabe!
2: I hate him too.
1: Lets just go down then.
2: Do you know the way?
1: No
2: Oh.
1: Shall we post about how shite the club is on S24su.com instead
2: Yeah.
1: I'm going to post about how I hate the clubs marketting campaign "True Blades are at the lane"
2: Me too - with such an innocent campaign i'm offended. I'm a True Blade an all.
1: Me too - all them that agree with that campaign are wankers.
2: yeah its a good campaign isn't it. I'm not going next season because i'm a true blade
1: Me neither, they're all wankers
2: Shall we take up the season ticket offer of frozen prices then?
1: Yeah.
2: Ok i'll order them over the phone - bish bosh bash - how easy was that!
1: Very
2: Just a shame the Kids cup semi wasn't so easy, we need to attract fans back to the club with cut price or free tickets
1: Did you ask about the cup semi tickets when you were on the phone?
2: No. That was too simple
1: Wankers! I hate the club right now - You know this seasons shirt is on sale at £15 don't you
2: Don't get me started on the cut price merchandise in the Superstore! I hate that.

There, I think I covered just about everything there :)

LOL vintage stuff there lenny. You are slipping though.... a "thought provoking" thread like this on bladesunited would have done you a tonner i reckon!

How ironic, after giving his insight into the psychological world of 'the len', only Ollie really bit!

It was touch and go for a while though, lenny had a couple of tiddlers on the line.

Anyone got that link from that Stuwall kid, the Milwall fan? That was classic
