Your worst Blades take

Yea what has happened?!

1. Cut down on the pointless slices out to wingbacks facing three opposition players closing him down
2. Started timing his tackles. This is one of the most standout aspects
3. Started anticipating the opposition three passes ahead so his interceptions are very noteworthy
4. His corners don't hit the first man - they go into an area where the tall blokes are
5. His direct free kicks in range are improving. They are now 'oooh!' rather than 'fuck's sake!'
6. His dead ball free kicks into the box are into the danger zone so it becomes incumbent for attackers to get to the ball
7. He doesn't point quite as much. He still points, and players take no notice, but he's not doing it as much
8. Positionally when possession turns over, he is better placed on retreat to defend and do the regista stuff of meeting and driving the man with the ball out wide
9. Gets involved in moving forward with short passes toward their goal rather than backwards and sidewards. Not entirely perfect on this but 'green shoots', eh?
10. Hasn't hit row Z for three games now
11. He's stopped playing as a fourth man in a back three and is positioned further up the pitch

See, look? There's me being all positive about Oliver Norwood, after a few years of posters on here dribbling hot, indignant wee-wee into their trunks because they think I have 'an agenda'. The agenda is simple really. Play well, don't get 2/10. Listen to people sat around you at the match. Generally they agree.

Not quite sure I'm at the stage where a kitten couldn't climb my erection about his improved playing capacity, so the statement 'best midfielder in the division' or 'best midfielder who's ever worn the shirt' is some way back.

I was a big Big fan of Diego. I said he was detined for the big time. Injury scuppered that though.

Thinking Norwood was done about 14 months ago.

In 2015 I was telling anybody within earshot that Julian Banton would break into the first team and go on to have a career trajectory similar to Harry Maguire.

It's 2022, and 99% of the fans have no idea who the fuck Julian Banton is.

I thought Lys Mousset was a shite signing and had to eat my words after the first six months, but I was right after all

I remember emailing a bookies' to get odds on us doing 2 successive promotions, such was the optimism surrounding the start of Clough's second season.

Should've got the odds on 2 succssive treading waters instead
I've read a lot of stuff on Brian Clough and he was an incredibly complex character, and Nigel must have been affected massively as a consequence. To an extent it was inevitable he followed him into playing and management, but perhaps he was always trying to avoid ''turning out'' like his father, which is actually a real shame. Even as a player, I felt there was much more to offer and even greater as a manager. The ability is/was there but he seems content for the quiet life away from the media focus. Given what he saw happen to Brian, who can blame him?

I did think Martyn Woolford looked a real player in the 4-0 away friendly win against Macclesfield in the Adkins season.

Whoops :)

I thought Chris Wilder would be our manager for a decade, maybe even longer.
I felt we would have had a much longer tenure with him than what we got.
Still reckon no COVID and we finish top 6 then season after stay up but not by loads.

Everything has knock on effects etc. For instance had we never been relegated under Adams we might have tread water for a few seasons and then been relegated and never experienced the wilder upward trajectory. We could still be stuck in L1 etc.

Wilder would go on to manage england
David weir would be a good appointment
Never wanted to see mcburnie pull on a United shirt again

May be but Wilder was being Mardy long before covid ,

Told my dad that Wilder had made a serious mistake making Sharp captain because it would make it harder to drop him.

Got very grumpy with a few posters on here for “writing off” Ben Woodman.

Plenty

Barry Hayles would be top scorer in the Championship the season we signed him

Carl Veart and Andy Scott would be the new Deane and Agana

Louis Reed would go on and be an England regular after two cameos

Nigel Adkins would fire us back to the Premier League in a couple of seasons

When Wilders first two signings was Duffy and Hussey, that Duffy would be Campbell-Ryce MK2 and we would struggle and I doubled down on that by backing us to go down £10 at 16/1 after we lost at home to Southend

Danny Wilson, less said about that episode the better

David McGoldrick was an old injury prone has been

I’d also called out Phil Jagielka as a never would be after half a dozen games

Pato’s brother?

Time for a “come back”?

"That lanky bambi on ice from Donny will never do owt"

Glad I wasn’t the only one. Of all the thoughts I wish I’d kept to myself, it is the one about 15 minutes into Deane’s home debut that is the worst: ‘ That lad lad’ll never make a footballer.’ My son occasionally 🤣 reminds me…

I said that Hecky would be out of a job in 12 months.
You're not the only one there, to be fair I expected him to be hired as a yes man puppet of the board, after that god awful Yussuf presser, what a dire day that was. I thought anyone of any worth would be flogged, zero investment, sinking to mediocrity. Couldn't have been more wrong. Hecky has been a breath of fresh air and has built a very good squad and kept us competitive.

1. I thought George Long was more likely to succeed than Harry Maguire
2. I still think Aaron Ramsdale will eventually get 'found out' at Arsenal
3. I thought Florent Cuvelier and Febian Brandy would fire us from league 1 to the Prem
You aren't on your own with number 2, I still think it will even out and he's been playing in a good side.

Saw Lee Evans on his debut away at Norwich and said was better than Coutts. From memory he only played about 15mins but I'd had a fair few.
