Hello, Villa fan here, just wanted to say how excellent your fans were yesterday - plenty of excellent banter before and after the game, plenty of noise.

Especially I wanted to say thanks for being so sporting during our 82 European Cup celebrations, saw plenty of your lot giving generous applause, which wouldn't have been the case had the visitors been a lot of other clubs.

For what its worth, the general opinion of Villa fans where i was sitting was that the police and stewards were ridiculously over the top with the way they "handled" the fancy dress conga.

The other thing we all agreed on was we hope you stay up, and the Prem is better of with clubs like the Blades than Wigan. Or cheats like West Ham.

Good luck!

Yeah cheers mate.

Good game from villa you were more up for the game than we were it seems.

Good support yesterday show by both fans created a great atmos.

Fingers crossed we stay up. :)

Our fancy dress conga was no different to what happened at Luton last season - all in good faith... looks like stewards let it happen for a few mins then got annoyed with it.

Stewarding was crap though - I was on an aisle seat on back row, people were stood in aisle as couldn't be arsed to find their own seats (Spongebob Squarepants could hardly fit into his seat) and people were smoking constantly even though it was no smoking - think stewards came twice, said stop, they put them out, stewards went & started again.

My friend had coins thrown at her (she was sat on the left corner) - coins thrown by KIDS - yet our fans were arrested. Bet that copper had a story to tell when he got home.. "Ay up love, guess who I chucked out today - Scooby Doo"!!

Then waiting for the coaches to go was even worse! Villa fans taunting us in the coach park, police trying to be heavy handed, told us to get on coaches as we were going, then fifteen minutes later we did actually get on our way! Just seemed a whole joke.

Copper on turnstile wanted to know how much Shrek had to drink, when told 3 pints of smooth, copper wanted to know what volume the Smooth was, then what he had hidden under his mask. Crazy.

Shame the players didn't have as much fun as we did!

Great support by Blades yesterday and more evidence of coppers going over the top again!

Heard of a few getting kicked out/locked up yesterday for basically nothing.

Thanks for that Villain.

The applause was led by the older Blades who remember "Sid" Cowans who came to us in the twilight of his career and was still an awesome player with real class.

We also had Peter Withe and Dennis Mortimer had a month on loan too.

The Villa fans generally were a friendly bunch, it's a pity the stewards and the police acted like idiots.

Not allowed any fun at football any more....even when we are losing.

I thought Villa played really well yesterday and caused us more problems than some of the so called bigger clubs.

Good luck to you team for the future!

in my opinion the villa fans above us were complete tossers. We were sat near corner flag and a long haired hippy made throat slitting gestures and i was offered out by a man above. Little kids thought they were quite hard too but overall the bloody stewards were a joke.

From what i have heard Villa weren't too bothered about owt before game with people who want it.

Well, I don't just think it is Villa stewards who are over top, it's all of them when it comes round to away fans. Blackburn was as bad as Villa stewards.

What I got thrown out for was ridiculous to be fair. Power trips for some people though ain't it.

dont think it helped you were bollockxed robbie

I agree I shouldn't have been allowed in the ground. If the steward had said you are too drunk I would have taken this as a good reason to throw me out. But it was pathetic.

cops and stewards were too heavy handed with a a bunch of people wanting to have fun,and thats all it was they were never threating anyone or trying to get on to the pitch set off useless tossers.some guy behind me startedsinging were you bullied at school to a copper andhow right he was.foolish coppers
