...and the problem for David Weir is 90% of our players are exactly that - turd. Nevermind 2 new players, we need about 8 or 9 if we're serious about going up.
I'm sure some won't agree with these views but for me we need to focus on the development of SUFC rather than putting blind faith into certain players.
Long - I still think a good prospect but the lad needs dropping IMO. Pretty fed up of him not communicating with the defence. It's also apparent his reaction speed is pretty slow - he seems
to watch goals go in too often (similar to Mark Bunn when he was here). Yesterday there was no sign of any attempt being made when Kay's header looped in. I know the lad might be shy but sometimes its like watching a little boy. Maybe we were spoilt with Paddy Kenny being a gobshite.
McFadzean, Ironside, Whitehouse etc. - We desperately need to loan these lads out. We haven't got time to aid their development, they need to do it somewhere else. Currently, despite McCabe believing so, the youngsters we have aren't good enough to help this club push for the top two.
Then, I'd say whilst they're not perfect, there's probably room for Collins, Maguire, Brandy (and other newbies I haven't seen enough to pass comment) to be around a better squad.
But whilst the likes of Flynn, Doyle, Murphy, McMahon and Porter are anywhere near the 1st team, this club will not go up and my love affair with SUFC continues to slowly perish.
Yesterday should have been a performance from players who knew the piss take of earning a wage at SUFC could be coming to an end due to possible investment but there was absolutely fuck all. If they don't perform knowing that, when will they?
