Yet again, South Yorkshire Police prove unable to run a bath.......

That's what you get for complaining about the queue outside the railway station last year :)

I never like staying in Barnsley too long anyway :D Take three points and then go back to Sheffield to have a few pints and celebrate, sorted!

On a serious not though i've never been a fan of early kick offs or late ones for that matter, the 3pm suits me fine.

Can't make early kick offs as my lad is now playing on Saturday mornings. Was there any trouble at all at the game last season?

Yes caused entirely by the crimefighters. This will be our punishment for making an issue of it.

West Yorkshire's finest gave the coaches an escort all the way on to the motorway as though we were some kind of regal motorcade. Won't hear a word said against them.

The "trouble" last year was due to heavy handed policing, in an attempt to funnel thousands of fans into the train station they created a crush (I'm being deadly serious when I say it was very lucky nobody went to ground, it could have turned into a tragedy! The few hundred fans at the front had absolutely no control over where they heading, and just got carried by the surges). I personally saw a couple of injuries because of this, people bouncing off the frame of the doors head first as those behind tried to get through and into the station. I didn't see any crowd trouble between fans at all.

I was with a child in the crush last year, and it was absolutely terrifying!

Someone on here suggested Wembley (heading towards the underground) style policing with staggered lines of police letting through small(er) groups, that would be preferable to the mayhem last year. And it has to be said, a much more relaxed approach to policing was and is needed; I know this is a local derby, and I know there is history between fans, but shutting down the town centre and creating a policed off route to/from the ground with police stretching all the way alone both sides of the roads? WTF was that about? It felt like a scene from Children of Men!

Isn't there an elected "Commissioner" that runs the Keystone cops these days, or did he resign?

As he's accountable to the public perhaps it would be advantageous to let him know a) what happened last season and b) why it shouldn't happen again and c) why we'll be actively campaigning for his opponent at re-election time.
