Well I did say fuck him off before the season started, at the time he was holding out for more money and showing very little desire to sign for the club, more like he was touting himself round like a cheap prostitute. The more I think about it he should be the first to be shown the door, typical United when no other team wants him we wait and wait and wait all the time losing out on other targets.

Although we were awful over both legs and terrible in the second half. I'm surprised people are being quite so negative about the first half performance, we actually passed the ball around, used width and used what little pace and movement we have quite well, it should have been something to build on in the second and it wasn't until the substitutions in the second half that we completely gave up and stopped playing anything resembling football.

Getting decent cash for Maguire is the key to next season, he's OK at this level defensively, but is too slow to ever make it at the top level and will only be worth less as he gets older. His only setting for passing the ball forward is hoof and he set up as many Yeovil attacks as he stopped by just lumping the ball back to them rather than retaining possession. He seems to get different treatment from some fans because he's a Blade and fresh from the academy, but is just as gash as most of the rest. McCabe will get slaughtered for selling him, but we need to get as much cash as possible for him while he still has any value, although his performances in those play-off games won't have impressed anyone.

Was that really Matt Hill playing today, looked a bit like Dave Benson Phillips (but he's probably a better defender).

if murphy had scored i think we probably would have gone though.
2nd half we just coasted along really. not a dreadful performance but never did we look like we really wanted to go out and take the game.

Sums up the season really. We lack leadership and players who are prepared to take on responsibility to make things happen. They all leave it to each other and kind of hope something will happen.

Very harsh on Hill. I thought he was solid. For the second goal he was stranded between two attackers cos the centre backs had gone missing. Admittedly, his distribution is a bit agricultural, but he doesn't hide.

Don't disagree with you re Doyle ,SP which is why i think we need to start again with a midfield pairing. Whitehouse is talked of highly but we don't know yet if he can cut it at professional level. We need someone athletic in there, a box to box goalscorer but everyone wants one of them.

When your central midfield pairing have scored less than 5 goals between I would suggest we need fresh faces in there

Hill for me had an absolute stinker. Completely at fault for the first, and they almost scored a second but for a good stop by Long a few moments after where their attacker had a free run on goal due to Hill being caught out of position on the wing. Offered very little going forward either. Worst performance I've seen him play in and considering some of the displays he put in when he first came here that's saying something.

yes he stepped up badly for their opener,was a basic error, too big a risk too early, we look like garden gnomes at full back , yeovil had 2 over 6 footer at full back , we look vulnerable at every cross due to a lack of height

And you know, that is the reason I am perhaps so critical of MacD is because we all know he CAN produce. He simply hasn't all season, nor looked like doing so.

Although we can all agree his midfield partner is and always has been sub-standard, he has done nothing himself this season to try and lift us from this mediocrity. You don't simply play, you have to earn the right to do so in every match. And he doesn't, so goes hiding.

I agree entirely Ginger. I thought I'd watched a different game to Deadbeat and what some others have described. As we approached half time, we were out playing Yeovil that comfortably I honestly thought we'd snatch a goal and see the game out. For whatever reason we didn't continue the first half form and they got back into the game.
