Article on the BBC about how all teams fared over Xmas.
Again we've either been fairly lucky, or we have a very good setup in terms of managing the players workload, recovery, training etc...

The main reason for posting is the below;

Which teams ran most and least?
Sheffield United460.1km
Crystal Palace415km

Collectively we covered more ground than any other team over Xmas.
I found this hard to believe as so many of our fans had assured me we were "tired" & "off the pace" against Liverpool... ;)

400k of that was chasing the ball at Anfield as Liverpool passed around us! 🤨

The lack of injuries is a credit to the conditioning of the players done within the club, something which has been impressive from the very start of Wilders tenure

If I run a marathon am I definitely not tired or off the pace at the end of it just because I've covered the distance?

If anything those stats show why everyone looked so knackered chasing shadows around Anfield as they put so much into every game. Mousset moved slower than Sharp after running his arse off at City and by the time Stevens arrived to join in an attack, he had to turn straight round and get back to the other end again. Not resting the wingbacks at some point in December meant they had little left for a game that needed them at 100% that's not good management of their workload, although the lack of injuries is down to the good conditioning.
