Don't want WP. Charlton mates don't rate. He can't get in their side, Charlton are average. Lazy player who goes missing...

He's a good player for this level and over 20 goals last season means if I were you I'd be saying BS when they say that. I can't think of many other realistic decent proven goal scorers at this level we would be able to get. To be honest though mate I don't think he will be here, a few different sites reporting Di canio has got him on a 6 month loan.

The flip side if he scored the goals to get them up last season. His not being good enough for the Championship is a bridge we long to get to!

we dont have one player who IS good enough for the championship. to be fair, we dont have many that are good enough for league 1.

mccabe is taking us back to division four within 2 years. and he aint gonna get us back up either. the amazing thing is, its all turned to shit in no time. only a few years ago we were in the premier league. hell, only last year we were a ched's penis away from the championship. now weve got a squad full of bums, charlatans, kids and old men. yes im being over pessimistic. but with the chuckle brothers running our club, i cant see anyway but downhill even further.

Death will be a welcome release for you from all this misery ;)

The chap in your avatar (not Mandaric) bagged a fair few last season, 18 in 38 in the league. Not all pens either. It sounds like he's available as well. How would you fancy him making the short trip our way?

Considering BWP scored more and has better attributes i.e. pace and is more of a clinical finsher, I would take BWP over the thick bell end that is the gypo machine anyday.

Your point isn't valid on other grounds such as the fact we "try" to play a similar game to Charlton i.e. a passing game, not lump it up to a whole team of 6ft'ers and try and bulldoze it over the line. The gypo machine also has the footballing brain of a 4 year old and the attitude of a mardy toddler who just dropped his ice cream. We need pace and we have for ages, now more than ever as Miller is out. Gypo = 0 pace , BWP offers a good amount of pace and another outlet we are desperate for.

In anycase BWP will not be coming to us and I would have rather kept Blackman...
However this is not the case and I ask you, who else realistically we could get in who would add to the squad the much needed pace we are missing and a clinical finish?

You seem confused.

I didn't make a point, I asked a question. I wouldn't fancy the big dirty twat at our club either. He's a wanker. Mind, having said that, so is the mobile phone thief. I was wondering what people's views would be if we signed the scummer, considering he has a decent scoring record at this level.

In reality we'll get neither, so it's all hypothetical.

I personally would also rather we'd have kept Blackman and tried to build a team rather than selling at the first opportunity.

Sorry latters, for some reason I thought your comment was more of a dig not a suggestion.
I think we both agree that Blackman is better than both but if hypothetically gypo was to come to the lane I don't think he would fit into the play style at all. Having said that, in all honesty I think we could do with abit of a twat like him in our team who has a bit of bite in him, just not the other attributes such as slow big and thick. We already have enough slow big experienced strikers in Cressy and kitson and I rate thme higher then Madine... Although gypo does have the years in his favour to improve. I think league 1 will be his standard with a hoofball team full of 6fters. Possibly flirting with bottom end of championship if he sorts his attitude out and grows a a few million brain cells .

Apparently BWP is no longer under consideration for "financial reasons" - In other words we can't afford him! How much can he possibly be on? It's all going in the usual direction isn't it.....

Surely the board would have known what he was on before the final day of the window if he was on a high wage he shouldn't have been considered before the window opened.
Are they all asleep and just wake up on the last day?

Or, we could have found a different target?

A pesky agent must have disclosed the undisclosed fee and caused him to up his demands!

We haven't had too many 'poor' transfers windows in recent seasons(possibly just the Beattie sale but for me he would have gone the summer before if he was fit)

My concern is that we never seem to 'push on' during the JTW. In the premier league Warnock bought players 'for the future' instead of the couple of players to guarantee safety, the other season our reliance on loan signings got us relegated and last season, our lack of midfield cover cost us .

This season ? We need a winger and a striker as well as Robson...it is whether KM releases the funds

As usual, deadline day seems to be fizzling out to nothing

What makes this even more frustrating is the fact that McCabe promises us signings regardless of the Blackman fiasco, then on top of that we receive apparantly a £1.2m fee and we've lost our leading scorer. if those aren't good enough reasons to go out and get our season back on track, I don't know what is?

Now, to top it all off, it seems we can't afford BWP

Somat doesn't appear to be right here

Promotion my arse

Dread to think what tomorrows attendance will be?

Really?

2010 Kilgallon goes, Walker loan cut short, hello Nyron, goodbye playoffs.
2011 Reid Britton and Bartley swapped for Doyle and Collins. Hello league one

Rev took the words off my keyboard!

I could imagine BWP was on a fairly decent salary at Charlton but more than we can afford?! Find that very surprising. Especially given we've released a couple and sold McAllister and Blackman. I realise we've brought in a couple as well but if we don't have enough money to attract third tier goal scorers we may as well not bother at all.

If you read my post,I said in the season we got relegated we were over reliant on loans....Reid and Bartley were loan players ,from the season before,Nyron and Walker were loan players. Those players being in and out cost us financially and in terms of stability. In our relegation season, our inability to keep Reid and Bartley got us relegated

We need permanent signings of the right standard and not an abundance of loans

It may depend how much Charlton wanted for him..however,.if he is on,say,£5k per week,£100k to cover until the end of the season seems a small price(in wages) to pay for a goal scorer...might be different if he is on double that thou

If this is what we were facing it makes the sale of Blackman - on nowhere near that - idiotic beyond belief.

It's a fair point bartman. What I would say though is if Charlton are expecting more than about 500k for him they will be very lucky to get it.

Well we tried but pesky agents stopped us signing players and kept directing them to giants of the game like Fleetwood, Rotherham and Corby Town.
