Sorry latters, for some reason I thought your comment was more of a dig not a suggestion.
I think we both agree that Blackman is better than both but if hypothetically gypo was to come to the lane I don't think he would fit into the play style at all. Having said that, in all honesty I think we could do with abit of a twat like him in our team who has a bit of bite in him, just not the other attributes such as slow big and thick. We already have enough slow big experienced strikers in Cressy and kitson and I rate thme higher then Madine... Although gypo does have the years in his favour to improve. I think league 1 will be his standard with a hoofball team full of 6fters. Possibly flirting with bottom end of championship if he sorts his attitude out and grows a a few million brain cells .

With regard to the pissed up pig brawler not suiting our style of play, last season I would have agreed with you 100%. This season, however, we don't have the footballers we did last time around and our style of play has altered somewhat. Whilst I do think he'd now do a job for us, he's just such a massive (see what I did there?) nob head that I could never actually want us to sign him.

Mind you, as the deadline draws ever nearer, even he would be a refreshing improvement upon nothing!

He had no choice with Long and he never gave him a ringing endorsement. He hasn't even started Ironside in the league and I agree Whitehouse has suffered through injury but he isn't now but still he won't put him in when DOyle and McDonald have been shite, not even as sub. Diego hopefully will get a chance but I don't think that's down to Danny having faith, but Danny having no money.

His dice are loaded. The only reason for him to sell Blackman was to reinvest. He's clearly not been given the money to do that beyond Murphy (10% Blackman's value) and some loan fees which we were told were available before anyway.

What upsets me is that I don't see how any manager can get us up using the restrictions we currently work under. To get promoted you need to keep your best players for at least one season. Preferably two or three.

Which leads me to ask whether we run at a loss now, even if one discounts the loan repayments to McCabe? If we don't then surely McCabe is making a mistake by hoovering up spare cash. He can't make his money back in Div1 - staying here just isn't sustainable.

Its a total shambles we sell our best goalscorer replace him with a player we didnt think was good enough 5 or 6 years ago (I know we were in a higher league then) he reminds me of Littlejohn pace but no end product, our main target BWP signs for one of our main rivals who were under a transfer embargo due to the FFP rules earlier in the season.Rumours are we couldnt afford him if these are true how can Swindon.
I know Wilson stated he wanted a striker and a winger but a CM player to replace Doyle was a must
We give long contracts to the likes of Cresswell and Captain Doyle (who IMO should be dropped) and extend / renew the contract of Porter these contract decisions are surely down to DW. I thought the stupid contract decisons were a thing of the past but it appears not.
Just hope weve got a good loan player lined up when that window opens, I know some on here will groan at thought of more loan players but that is the only hope we have of making the play offs
