I'd love us to make losing a game to screw them over so obvious as well. The more obvious the better. And then everyone just shrug and say "We tried our best but today we just weren't good enough.
Man City tried their best to lose a game against Wendy several decades ago (No money changed hands and there were no betting scandals obviously) because our ever so honourable neighbours wouldn't have been involved in anything like that at the time
But, try as Man City did to lose they still beat them
That was when they went down in 1970. City even missed a penalty on purpose. Fortunately, Ian Bowyer wasn't in on the fix and scored the winner after coming on as substitute - it finished 2-1 to City.
To make it even more fun, the game was played in torrential rain so all the Pig fans on the roofless kop got drenched.
