The last I heard, he was lookin at an October return. Would he replace Maquire or Collins immediatley?

No chance of an October return IMO.

When (and if) he gets back, it really depends on how he does in the reserves. If he's 75% of his best; he should get in in front of Collins.

Has anyone else seen the intensity with which Morgan takes the pre-match warm-ups? He sorts the defenders out and as you would expect he is bang up for it - also noticeable when I saw him at Yeovil was the way he was moving and turning and kicking balls etc. I really was amazed - I know there is a big difference between a few twists and movements in a warm-up and match fitness but imo he really was moving as you would expect a pro footballer to move.

Fingers crossed he's closer than we think then.

I find it interesting that we've not had all that many updates on Taylor, Ertl and Morgs. All will be good at this level IMO (remember, Collins has been like Beckenbaur this season after all). The defence will be pretty much spot on when we have all three back; although there question marks at RB cover, but Ertl and Parrino can play there in a pinch.

The knee will be absolutely fine, unlike me he'll have been training hard to get back to almost full strength and if the muscle bulk around the knee is back to full strength then there probably won't be any issue with his knee at all in terms of running, jumping etc in a "controlled" environment like training.

The main risk is contact, even though the strength will be there, if he gets clattered it could twist it into a position where the new graft is put under stress.

The other risk (which I have fear of) is again from twisting, especially vulnerable when the legs get tired and when he lands from jumping. His muscles will tire more quickly than usual and also take longer to recover.

Then there is the risk of other injuries, the leg muscles will have shortened a little since his injury so he has a risk of tearing his Hamstring, quad or damaging the tendon where they took the graft material from, which will be most likely the patella tendon (i would assume).

Thats my take on his situation

As for coming straight back in. No he wouldn't currently walk straight back in. The other two need to fcuk up first.

By the way, which was his dodgy leg? R or L

He would walk straight back into my team.

Great captain and a model of consistency.

There were so many games in the last year where his presence was sorely missed.

Although I rate Morgs as a top centre half, I wouldn't drop Collins for him on current form. I believe Neill offers more going forward despite being a slightly weaker defender. We will be punished less for Collins' mistakes at this level but will benefit more from his sound distribution, ability to run out of defence with the ball and his good vision (Christ, you never thought you'd hear that last season).

Which means dropping Harry. I know he made a mistake yesterday but he's been really good so far. It's going to be a difficult decision for Mr Wilson whatever happens.

Collins sound distribution yesterday was totally absent. Both him and Harry mostly launched it as soon as they got it.

I'd drop both Collins and Maguire if I could. Their centre forward yesterday just stood between them for most of the game and neither bothered to pick him up. He was about 3 yards quicker than both so had the beating of them every time.

We should try and buy Wycombe's centre back Tunnicliffe, thought he looked excellent footballer and got height and strength.

I love Captain Morgan and would have him back in a heartbeat but has he got his coaching hat on now? Hope not we need the hardest man in Yorkshire back!

simply has to play..asap.. period.. i don't care who they drop or what their form is.

I'm a big fan of Morgan and he would be an asset at our current level if we were still playing direct (hoofball) football (Blackwell, Adams etc). I just can't see him playing regulary under DW with the way he likes everyone being comfortable on the ball. Morgan has never been a player that happy with the ball at his feet and would much rather be in a scrap with a big centre forward than play tippy tappy football. Having said that the transformation of Collins has been nothing short of amazing.
