We checked into the Carrier Bag Firm HQ in Carvoeiro last night. Today, our route to source Portuguese Craft Beer took us past the Stadium. You we stuck our nose in through the trees & gate.
Tidy little set up. The main activity was mowing the grass.
Hit me up if I can help with in country info.
And, there''ll be live Portuguese Beer on my Twitter

It’s amazing how the Americans casually use British slurs with no idea as to their meaning or severity .. couple of years ago I was in an audio store in Manhattan with an American mate who was buying. The shop guy called me a wanker in jest.

What strikes me most - and you may get a sense from this photo - is how many of them turn up to a football match wearing the gear of teams which aren't even playing. Barcelona shirts are the main one, but you get allsorts.

Yeah any old football shirt will do. See it at NFL games in the stadium too. Went to NYCFC V NYRB last night and a guy was wearing a Montreal impact shirt. They are in town on wednesday....

Was at the Minnesota United t'other day and saw both LA Galaxy and Atlanta United shirts, neither of which side was playing.

For those in the know about Portimao, can you recommend a bar to watch the semi?

I’ll be watching the France, Belgium semi in my local in France, there’ll be two men and a dog there one of which will be me, for the last France match there was a 9 year old kid wearing tricolor glasses with his grandma, a bored bar person and me, and i was supporting Uruguay. The French don’t seem to care less. If they lose it will be a Gallic shrug and on’with the day.

Mind you when the French U20 rugby side won their World Cup, beating England U20 in the final, at Béziers three weeks ago, they were falling over themselves to tell me. My turn to shrug indifferently

Thought you'd have gone via Maltby :D

Circumstances have dictated I've done reconnaissance.
I have no information on Albufeira, I'm 59
Surely, there is no better Beer Bar in Portimao than Hamburgueria B&B. Eight Portuguese Micros on Tap. Plus a glorious bottle list.
And, my near ground assessment

Well I'm in sunny Morley and thinking about sticking my nose into one of the local pubs, probably the Royal, I just hope they don't remember the rendition of "we're Sheffield United, we're top of the league" after a game not too far from there last Autumn time ;)

Just booked taxi in to albufeira for 5pm gunna grab some tea and find a bar in the old town preferably near the square so the kids can run riot.

Trying to decide whether to get taxi in to portimoa and have a few beers or just drink in the hotel and go straight to the ground?

Venezia at the bottom of the escalators in the Old Town. My mate and his family run it, they also own the bar next door. Food is good and they're great with the kids

Went in the craft beer/burger place myself yesterday was very good thanks for the recommendation before scoping out the chav bars on the strip for the match tonight. Was very strange with the French and Belgians just sat quietly watching and just breaking out into polite seated applause at the end! Bit different tonight I’d think.

Nice one, will they have the match on?

Last time I was there, they didn't have any screens in the actual restaurant (that might have changed now as it's a few months since I've been), but I'm sure his bar will have the game on. Hope that helps, have a great time, the Old Town is the best part to be.

Cheers pal, it’s in Harry’s hands now.

Or maybe he just thought you were a wanker :-)

Ferragouda is my favourite place after Lagos. We are off to our villa at Balaia (just east of Albufiera) in 2 weeks, all this madness just may have quietened down by then.
