I reckon the order of names on the teamsheet will be something like:

1. Hammond 2. Brayford 3. Long 4. Done 5. Collins 6. Edgar 7. Basham 8 Coutts 9 McEveley 10. Sharp 11 Woolford.

They wouldn't be my choices but that's how I think the manager is thinking. His dilemmas will have been Woolford or Flynn and Sharp or Sammon, then McEveley or Wallace. Unfortunately Coutts and Basham creep into midfield somehow and we are left with a midfield doing half a job, indeed less than half the job.

From my own perspective of the type of football I want to watch, the midfield of Coutts, Basham, Hammond and Woolford, is likely the worst I have seen at Bramall Lane. Never have we had so little attacking ambition and so little skill.

So, so disappointing it's going this way. I would never wish us defeat but I don't see any virtue in winning games at places like Scunthorpe playing grinding football and trying to bully them off the park. What are the odds of us going down to 10 men? Coutts and Woolford in our big, nasty rag and tag-team of a midfield seems a bit like asking them to grow horns overnight to my view.

Sorry I ramble.

Hope you own the appropriate footwear Woody.
