Wolves Fans View On Richard Stearman

Yeah I agree, I heard Wilder's interview and I just didn't get the impression that EEL is his other centre back but who knows.

I'm fine with it if thats the case. Yes, Stearman is older than EEL, but for (probably) cheaper we have got someone with solid experience at Championship level.

I never realised just how weird the music it. I'm sure that in the seventies it seemed normal although I suppose that as a kid, you don't really have a concept of weird. Well I didn't, I just assumed most things were normal. It wasn't til I became a teenager that I got judgemental about things.

I know what you mean, although I think I was a bit older before I became more judgemental. Now, I'm camped in Curmudgeon territory.

Speaking of weird 70's stuff, I vaguely remember a series called Appointment with Fear. The opening titles seem quite tame now but at the time they scared the shit out of me.

Looks a good signing hopefully settle the nervous nellies a bit over the lack Championship quality signings.

There are tons of weird things from 70s and 80s kids TV. I once wrote an article about a few odd things they used to show us

Thanks as ever Roy. Just one question really, why did you choose "Wolves fans" views on Stearman and not Fulham fans? I appreciate he's spent much longer at Wolves over the years and they know him better, but his most recent club and one where he's struggled to impress, is Fulham. So it would be good to see what they made of him perhaps?

He hasnt played a game for Fulham in nearly a year, he played for wolves pretty much all of last season so surely the wolves fans views are more relevant, not fulham fans who havent seen him for nearly a full season?

Ah ok! That explains it then. Thanks. I didn't realise he'd been back on loan at Wolves last season. I only read that we'd signed him from Fulham.

Yeah as S5 says , he's not played a game for Fulham since the season before last and even then he only started around 20 league games

A very good experienced signing, bringing some much needed Championship experience into the side.

Would still love to see EEL return though, some good competition for places never did any side any harm.

A steady eddie whose career has been flatlining a bit.
Unspectacular but solid signing, has the feel of lower mid-table which is probably where we're aiming.

Being big fish in Division 1 is a completely different ball game to entering the Championship. The players we'll want to attract will have a far wider choice from which to select. As has been mentioned about Holmes from Charlton, if he was 4 years younger there's be several top Championship teams viewing him as a potential signing. Let's give Stearman a few games to see if he's going to add to our defensive unit before he's cast in the role of Paddy McCarthy, the underwhelming loanee who once wore a Blades shirt.

Yes I can remember Friday night's sneaking a look from behind the sofa at the horror images flashing on screen whilst my mum laughed

Spoke to a Wolves season ticket holder of 40 years+ last night who says that Stearman is solid and reliable and a much better defender than EEL. That'll do for me.

You're a changed man since you left Sheffield Kenilworth - anchovy fillets indeed!!
Not much though if he's using tinned ones and not a carton of fresh ones from a deli. ;)
