Tbf im happy enough with this lad. Sounds likenhe has a bit of raw potential about him and if we couldnt get a Morgan or Webster deal done then we could have done a lot worse than this lad.

Wasn't Collins classed as a fairly decent player when he was at Wolves.

Indeed, let's not take that sort of comparison as being an alarm bell just yet – the Collins they saw regularly would have been at a different point of his career, and completely different to the disaster he was the last two years. If we had a Wilson/initial-Clough era Collins that wouldn't actually be particularly bad either...

“Think Ebanks-Landell move to Sheff Utd would be good for both him and them. Slightly out of depth in Champ but will do job in L1”

A fairly balanced set of views. But really, even if it's unintentional, to be patronised by Wolves fans? Every so often I get that sharp, stabbing pain as I reminded how far we have fallen.

So:
  1. Burn? No.
  2. McFadzean? No.
  3. Webster? No.
  4. Morgan? No.
  5. Some bloke called EEL that no one has heard of? Ah, go on then.

When I was growing up I was disappointed if we didn't beat Everton. Now we grovel for their loose change to take away our most promising players.

Hey ho.

The Herbertian Scouting Scale:

The Herbertian Scouting Scale (2011) is a metric tool used to assess the suitability of footballing transfer targets. N.b. all targets are assessed in comparison to the barometer of footballing standards that is Mathieu Manset. With its foundations in all that is BladesMad, the scale is a tried and tested method which has stood the test of time. Targets' attributes are examined as follows:

ETHAN EBANKS-LANDELL:

Ethan Reid Ebanks-Landell (born 16 December 1992) is an English footballer who plays as a defender. He is currently on loan at Sheffield United from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Assessment criteria:
Tall
: YES, at 6ft 2, he is as tall as Manset.
Young: YES, at 23 he is 4 years younger.
Pacey: NO, given a recent metatarsal injury, he is currently considered to be slower than Manset.
Tricky: NO, given that he is a 'hoof it or head it' centre half, he is less skilful than Manset.
French: NO, born in West Bromwich, EEL is considerably less French than Manset.
Hungry: TIE - EEL is returning from long term injury, whilst Manset is yet to play for Consolat Marseille and is said to be chomping at the bit.
Black: YES, both are black.

Total: 3.5 out of 7. Rating: Average. With 3 attributes considered stronger than Manset and one on a par, it is clear that EEL brings some potential to the Blades. Whether he has the commitment and fortune to fulfil a career trajectory taking in the heights of Walsall, Hereford and Sofia, remains to be seen. His ethnicity, hunger and height should impress and he is known to be a competitive header of a football. His Frenchness, limited trickery and recent injury give cause for concern.
