To put it simple they are probably the smartest owners in British football. They started looking for a club 2 years before they brought us and their first move was buying a 20% stake in Mendes agency and hired him to find the perfect club for them. We happened to be lucky as we had made profit the year before they could spend big with us without breaking ffp. The original plan was for the now Spanish manger Julen Lopetegui to be our manager but the take over got delayed until 2 weeks before the season and he had decided to take the Spanish job by this point. Thats when they first approached nuno to come who had just been appointed Porto boss and he said he couldn’t leave Porto at that point but it was agreed then that he would become our manager the season after. Last season was write off before it started as the take over happened so late and plan a and b manger had fallen through.

This season they had a full summer and appointed nuno just after the season finished signed players to fit his system not just big money foreign players but cheap British players as well. Our back 6 yesterday cost a total of 3 million in transfer fees. Then lowered ticket prices at the start of season to get molineux full I think our first 6 home games all had ticket offers on to make sure the ground was as close to capacity as it can be. They also rejected all sky games until the villa game to make sure the ground was full as possible.

The biggest difference between fosun and other foreign owners in the championship is they appoint the right people in the right roles and let them get on with doing there job with no interference from them. The new ceo they appointed has got the fans back on side after the trust issues we had with moxey. Nuno is probably the best manager the championship has seen. Kevin thewell our DOF is brilliant at signing talented kids so is left to do that side of the recruitment while Mendes the biggest agent in football deals with our marquee signings which with his inside info he gets is generally a lot cheaper than the going rate.

The big money signing we have made so far have all been players who will most likely only go up in market value neves £15 million will probably be worth £50 million if he does what he has done this year in the prem £7 million cav £13 costa jota fee is agreed at £12 million in the summer compare that to villa or the other Sheffield club who signed the likes of McCormack and Rhodes for similar fees who’s value was never going to go up and you see that they are smart when they spend the big money and aren’t just blowing money they are investing it.

I was there last night and our fans were subdued, partly cos of the elongated stand we were in, and partly due the fact we were outplayed. It was a bit weird how the Wolves fans behind us only really sang the name of the stand they were in "Steve Bull!" but fair play to the Wolves fans to our left; they were very loud throughout the game.

In fairness to the vast majority of Wolves fans they were equally magnanimous when they did a similar job on us in the 2003 play off final.

Like us they have a few knobs that have caused us bother but I have full respect for most of them.

I can vouch for this. I was on a train after the game and it was full of Wolves supporters (or the carriage that I was in was full of them). They were absolute gentlemen. No gloating at all. in fact they were so subdued it seemed like they had lost and we had won! I think that was because they couldn't quite believe they had won and won pretty easily. Especially after their previous season when WBA had beaten them to the automatics when they had appeared to be home and dry. Like us when Wednesday did the same to us they went on to fail in the play offs.

All of them were very sympathetic and wished us well for the following season.

It's obviously only ever going to be opinion based but this Wolves side is better than that Reading team for me. It's certainly closer than 'no chance'.

I think the Reading team was a “better team” whereas Wolves have some far better individuals.
Wolves have a higher ceiling and probably (rightly) expect to finish top half next season in the PL.
The Reading team work/ team ethic only takes you so far. In the PL top quality matters and Wolves have some of it.

I’ve read loads of deserved high praise for Wolves after they beat us so comfortably at the weekend

BUT the in-game statistics show that the match was a mirror image of our domination in the fixture at Bramall Lane.
We dominated the first game and I don’t think Wolves had a proper shot at goal (apart from the penalty).
However the Wolves fans reaction to that game was “it was our (Wolves) worse performance of the season” and “being down to 10 men affected the result” or “they must have wanted it more and outbattled us”.

However we were still very much dominant BEFORE the sending-off outplaying Wolves with higher quality passing.
On Saturday we could arguably say that was our worse performance of the season, it’s been years since we were last dominated like that but i’m pleased to see our fans magnanimous in defeat and respect and accept that Wolves were far too good on the day.

But this was in an era where parachute payments were quite small, teams didn't have huge budgets etc.

To piss allover this league...containing clubs spending 20-30m is no mean feat.

I see the logic of that, but I think that what Reading did was very impressive, regardless of which teams or eras you compare them to. It could be argued that their achievement was more impressive than what Wolves are doing because the sides in the division at that time were far more evenly matched financially. Reading did have a benefactor, but their financial clout was somewhat modest compared to Wolves of today. They were just a very well run club with a good manager, and to lose only once in 45 matches was a truly impressive feat.
