We definitely need one, ideally two.

Aware these suggestion threads are largely pointless but purely out of interest, any suggestions?

There doesn't seem to have been as many put forward as players we should be in for as some of the other positions.

Murphy brothers one of them was on loan at Coventry the other at mk dons .Wilder will probably go for Ricky Holmes also may put in a cheeky bid for Roofe ..

Sulley kai kai is a great shout but well beyond our grasps. He will go to the champ now. Jay oshea is exactly what we dont want, definition of average league 1. MK Dons got rid for exactly that reason.

Gboly Ariyibi.

Jacob and Josh Murphy.

Nathan Byrne.

Anthony Forde.

Jay O'Shea.

Graham Carey.

Scott Wagstaff.

Lloyd Dyer.

David Worrall.

Sulley Kaikai.

Martin Samuelsen.
Some decent shouts on that list, although don't know much about one or two..Kaikai would be a right signing if we could get him on loan from Palace..looked good in the games against United, and Shrews fans really rated him...The type of player we could have done with last season for me.

Kemar Roofe, is he a winger or mid or striker? Is he achievable?

Brandon Barker

Ryan Kent

Tariqe Fosu, at Reading (though he's hit the buffers a bit this last season)

We can still do long-term loan deals next season, can't we?

I think it's season long loans or in January window only next season.

I suggested callum harriott on another thread out of contract at Charlton, and when on loan at Colchester he was outstanding! Young, fast, good end product

I don't think Harriott's too realistic, he's from down there and Charlton will see him as a key player next season. Doubt there'll be much Championship interest and they'll probably be able to offer him more than us.

I know he's fairly average but he's versatile, tall, scores goals and is available on a free.

Anthony Forde's one I'd be really interested in. He's versatile and not lighting quick, so could be compared to Flynn, but he's got a bit more about him, is a well balanced player and at only 22 can still improve massively. Also out of contract. Potentially a big asset for a low price.

I'd say not, the chance to get him were the windows last season really.

Probably way out of our price range by now.

You say probably, I would say definately

We need to get real. We sold Murphy for £1.5m or whatever it was and spent £500k on Sharp. Anyone else was a loan or free

The budget for the coming season is to be reduced. Anyone who thinks we'll be looking at relatively speaking high transfer fees I believe has got it wrong. Won't happen

Wilder hasn't just been brought in because he pissed lge 2, it's because he did it by spending fk all and that's what made McCabes eyes light up

Some have been previously mentioned but according to; https://footballfragmento.wordpress.com/2016/04/ all of these players are out of contract winger-wise.
Callum Harriott
Rob Hall
Anthony Forde
Milan Lalkovic
Sone Aluko
Alex Kacaniklic
Mark Duffy
Ian Henderson
Adam Hammill
David Worrall
Scott Wagstaff
Chris Burke
Lloyd Dyer
Lee Novak (can play wide but more of a striker)
Romaine Sawyers (more of a number 10 but has played wide left, think he is a must sign if possible)

Would take Robert Hall in a flash, plenty of pace and trickery, left footed too, seems like he could do with a move to L1 and first team football.

Most would be a VAST improvement over our current 'wingers', woolford is as much of a winger as Jags was a keeper. Infact Jags was a better keeper than Woolford is a winger.

Sadly ruptured his ACL at the end of last season.

Interestingly (well to me, anyway), he went to the same school as Matty Phillips.

There's no chance Roofe will come because he is such a favourite at Oxford who are now in our league of course, I reckon Oxford will only sell for around £1m maybe more and probably to a Championship side. I can't see us spending that on one player. With this years budget been even smaller I can't see many transfer fees being paid full stop! There's enough decent freebies anyway to be honest to get out of this league, its just the wages then of course. Kaikai wmight even feature for Palace next season, if not he'll be loaned out to the Championship. David Worrall from Southend is far more realistic. He'd do a decent job and is the type of player we should be signing. Hungry and at 25 is still young and can improve.

Most of this list is either passed it, are too good for league 1 so we've no chance or not good enough IMO wouldn't mind Ishmael Miller

Half champ and half is league 1 (Danny Pugh and below) so not that out of reach. Ive deliberately left out unrealistic players like zamora etc and honestky think we would have a chance with most.
