Internet went down in the camp here last night at 2140 local time, five mins before Kick Off so i missed the entire game.

I have no idea how we played, but yesterday wasn't so much about a polished performance, it was the result that was the main thing. And as many said before Preston, we needed to match or better Leeds' results against Preston and Birmingham.

We took 4 points, Leeds 3. So that's job done in those two games which could've both been very tricky given the form of both Preston and Birmingham.

Now its onwards to two home games with Millwall, Nottingham Forest and away to Hull City.

Following that, Ipswich at home.

Leeds have 3 home games and 2 away like ourselves, Norwich have 2 home and 3 away.

Our home form over the season has been excellent and i think if we can win our three home games and don't lose at Hull City and we have a fantastic chance of taking 2nd or even top spot going into the last game.

If Leeds match or better this, with the fixtures that they have, I will be really surprised.

Since Villa we have got 2.3 points per game.

Leeds have 2.1 points per game from the same number of matches.

So keep that up over the next 5 matches and we should make up the 1 point that separates us, at which point goal difference comes into play. It really is tighter than a duck's chuff pipe

A lot will depend on getting JOC back and Billy needs to have another of his flurries, but I am confident we will squeak over the line. First things first though is to win on Saturday, which I think will put huge pressure on Leeds going into the Pigs game. Then let's see what is what.

Think it's less about stats now and more about people. We have three of the most pressureised games most , if not all, our squad will have ever faced in their careers. Do we have :-

a) Confidence, both in each other and the way we play? That gets a tick
b) Fitness, mental and physical? CWAKMP are the only people who can know for sure, but we miss JOC and there's a few looking a bit jaded at the moment
c) Form? Depends where you want to draw the parameters, but common consensus is that it (not necessarily results) is a little patchy
d) Belief? Probably linked to a) and another tick from me, but probably the bigger tests are to come
e) X-factor, who is going to do something amazing , last ditch block, 25 yard worldie, a tap-in even, that bends a game to our will? There's not one obvious candidate, but equally that means there's not one obvious candidate to mark.
f) Fortune? Complete lottery, but historically are there many more unluckier than us at the crunch?

My own summary, we look like we've got half of that lot in our locker, we can do nothing about f) or indeed the form of others, but a little uplift in some areas will probably be necessary to see us achieve what they all truly and richly deserve and I think probably for the first time ever, I don't want this for Me, My Son, My 287year old Grandad etc etc, I just want it for them.
