Wimbledon Away - 774 tickets

At £24 for Wimbledon and £26 for Millwall I'm surprised not to see any threads to boycott these, given the travel distances and associated increased costs compared to Bolton ;)

Yes does amuse me all the fuss over Bolton (granted opening day and closer of course) and the demand for tickets that we have sold only 500-ish for Millwall in comparison to 4,300 at Bolton.

I'll be there. then I am done for away games for a while or Wife will not be happy. I haven;t even told her what time I am going and coming back Saturday. Safe to say we will be in London for around 9am-ish and not departing till 9pm-ish! Match report may lack detail and accuracy!

Can't believe I'm so far behind I am in points, I've been a season ticket holder almost all my life, go to the home cup games and the odd away game (when I can afford it) it really must just be the same faces going to every away game for the gap to be as wide as it is. I was certainly deluded thinking i could ever make this trip.

Your clothes will at least be mustard and lager stain free at Millwall as the chavs won't be there.

Greenwich is a good place for a drink, Cutty Sark and Morning Cloud plus a few decent pubs.

folk's in the higher echelon of the loyalty point's system will still buy ticket's for these game's,even if they do not intend to go to the game,they will then sell their ticket to someone who want's to go.They get the loyalty point's still, keeping themselves ahead of the chasing pack,thus guaranteeing themselves ticket's to the game's they want to go to..:(

I can't imagine theres too many like that is there? I know a few will help people out from time to time if they are missing one, but I'd think the majority at the very top of the points simply don't really miss matches.

iv'e had to get ticket's this way when i'd not got enough point's eg exeter away.:(
 
45k for me with priority over Millwall because I can catch the bus to Wimbledon (Kingston) and might well be on Mum Duty this Saturday, assuming my dad is still in t'Northern General.

By the way, don't pedal the exercise bike and type at the same time.

I probably fit into what you call the 'higher echelon' category having 48k+ loyalty points but it'd never enter my head to buy a ticket if I weren't going & then sell it on - p'raps I'm too honest. Thinking about it ..........;)

It is possible to catch up it just takes a long time.

I didn't go to any away games in the PL season when the points were introduced, nor did I go to many in the 08/09 season. I didn't have a season ticket in 11/12 and only managed 4 away games all season.

It's took me 4 seasons since of not missing a game to catch up, but the notion that people can't ever get into the top bracket because high points holders buy tickets and don't go is daft. You hit the nail on the head at the end, there's only a few of us daft enough to turn up at Yeovil, Southend and Colchester on a Tuesday night to more often than not see a defeat (at least in recent years), and yes, by and large it always is the same faces.
 
I've been known to get into the away end if I can't wangle a ticket somewhere. It does means trying to blend in with the locals a bit and not cheering but can be interesting. First visit to new Chesterfield had proper ale in the away bit with some local serving from a barrel. I was enjoying me pint when Keith Edwards walked by, I couldn't resist being outed and said "alright Keith". I think he felt I was some local in my 'farmer' look and looked at me in a bemused way.

Scunthorpe I stood on the away end in my 'unemployed burly shell suit' look and got no hassle.

At Milton Keynes I passed muster in my 'bored middle England preppy accountant' outfit.

Whilst at Brentford I took a Southern mate as a prop and appeared as 'aged late returnee to football, independent thinking university lecturer look'

I can't wait til Brighton next season! Im thinking of outfits already..
 
it always going to be the same with these sorts of grounds like fleetwood because if im right at 4800ish our away end holds about 700 more people than their ground

just another reminder of the big gulf on paper between us & the other teams

Not sure where we are going. We tend to pick a place pre game and stay around there....ditto post game. We do not normally go to even the area where United are playing so trips to Richmond, Camden, Shoreditch, Clapham/Balham have all been done before. Stayed in London so many times with sister and to be honest seem to have done most areas at some point or drinking. We tend to avoid the centre to be honest.

Like Greenwich but always seems a bit of a trek to get there from central London.

Any other suggestions gratefully received for areas to go.....like unusual/quirky pubs also - not particularly fussed about real ale - I know I am a weirdo.

See most Blades are going to London Bridge?
 
Gutted I'll have to miss out on this one. I have somewhere in the region of 37 points but Wimbledon's ground is a short drive from my in-laws so was hoping the lure of time with her parents would smooth the discussion with the wife about me attending this one.

Can I get a boost in points for Super Bladeyness for the day just because I fancy it?

As someone in the "higher echelon", who isn't going to many away matches this season, I can confirm that I don't do this.

How many matches will there be this season where there will be a shortage of tickets? I'd say less than 5 matches, with the rest having tickets available on general sale. So who could I sell a ticket to when everyone can just wait and buy their own ticket and collect the loyalty points?
