It'll be the second time I'll have seen us win a league
Div 4 was the last occasion
Be nice to do Dvi 3 this year to complete the set and be in that exclusive club of 4
Then go on to win Div 2 next year - do they still call it the Championship?

Anyway - it'll go on the honours list and that's going to be the start of the Wilder legacy

I might even consider changing me Avar again :)
 
Tyler (forgot to insert quote) - You're more or less the same age as me (within a year...I was 11 at Wembley in '97 as well). For some reason the tears just wouldn't come that day, for all I was utterly devastated. The closest I've come to tears of joy watching the Blades was in the Old Crown on London Road, April 15th 2006...Leeds 1-1 Reading. Just about held it together then. Don't think there's any way I'll be able to do the same if we go up this year. I think it will be the greatest season I've ever seen as long as we get over the line.
 
Can't stand people crying in public. Lot to be said for the British stiff upper lip. Diana's funeral for example was a national embarrassment.

Although hypothetically, if we won the play-off final it would be on the 4 year anniversary of my dad dying, so there'd definitely be a moment of quiet reflection there.

Not in front of everyone though. That's a wanker move.

I get where you're coming from. The 3-2 win over Hull the same season was pure ecstacy. That's the moment I knew we'd done it. It was a weird, dizzy feeling.
 
FFS can we just STOP going on about what we will do IF we go up. Can we just stop making plans, asking if people will cry or not, stop having fucking polls about what you will/won't do, what will/won't happen etc etc.

Jesus, I've seen United fuck up from positions far better than the one we are in (remember being 2 nil up in a penalty shootout with a chance to go 3 up, for example?) so why not just accept that we have a chance but the job is far from done and just focus on the next game. Two away defeats and wins for our competition puts a whole new complexion on things so can we just leave the Champagne at the back of the cupboard for the time being please?:rolleyes:
 
I shed a tear after the Leicester promotion but I was only 4 and had been stung by a big wobby, Came close to shedding tears after relegation against Chelsea but didn't want to because my grandad was infront of me, whenever else we've fucked up its just a feeing of emptiness rather than tears. Whenever we've been good I've usually drank too much for it to register tears but I think I may come very close again if we do win the league this season but like has been said before, let's keep taking each game as it comes and worry about tears of joy come the end of April.

But weren't the days before the law the time when people were most homophobic? On the basis that if it was illegal it must be bad. So, it's more likely that homophobic insults were more prevalent pre-1967 than after.

I don't think there's much wrong with talking about "what if?" Personally I'm always very careful to say "if" and not "when" when discussing POTENTIAL promotion. It's the nature of football supporters that we can, and do discuss and dream about what could be. I don't think many people are saying we're already there, but there's nowt wrong with thinking about how we'll react IF we do make it across the line this season.

Champagne is not even in the cupboard, its still on the shelf at Lidl.

Nothing to be proud of, its embarrassing to have to get out of the third division in the first place.

I just want the nightmare to end.

I don't see winning all four league titles as an achievement
Being in the Third Division represents failure let alone the Fourth

cried twice against walsall then following season at darlington
