Will you be renewing next season?

  • Total voters
    132
  • Poll closed .
It feels different because of Twitter and Facebook and the Internet.

There's a lot of truth in this. It really does feel different and I've been trying to figure out why.

I grew up watching us slide from 6th in Division 1 to Division 4 with all sorts of abysmal football and footballers, Twitter and fb would've gone nuclear watching that lot.

I think there's a bit more to it than that but the internet is a very big part of it.

Of course I'm renewing. Why wouldn't I?

Blade for life

So, out of 78 posters (I voted just to see the results BTW, but don't have a ST so am discounted) at 0808 this morning a large percentage (nearly 60%) of ST holders are not certain they will renew next season.

Transpose that and its about 8500 for yesterday's game.

Well done McCabe.

I'm renewing, 60 in March so get the discount, whether I drive from Oxford every other week is another matter.

I know the words are "there's got to be a little rain sometime!

We all know it's pissing it down at the moment but it's still my song for United!

:)

He's at that age when he has a song for everything, but cant remember his own name, Bless!!!

What about 'I never promised you a rose garden'?

If I don't attend the football I'll have to spend a great deal more time shopping in garden centres, going on long walks and making the house 'look pretty'. I'm not prepared to do that.

It's a yes from me, Simon.

Like silverfox, I'll be taking my umbrella and hoping the rainy seasons over. I see my season ticket as my right to moan pass as its partially my money and implied trust there pissing up the wall.

As it stands, 37 from 56 polled would definitely or very poosbly not renew.

That's over two thirds.

Yes from me,
No choice but to renew, every season starts with optimism, the problems begin when the games start

The passionate will follow the dissatisfied will waver the pissed off will leave.

Don't worry, mate, you won't have to travel any where one week other than the short journey to the Kassam Stadium ;)

No. The problems begin when players like Murphy are mysteriously dropped on a Saturday and by the next Wednesday they are sold.

Watch this space. Done and Adams, gone by the end of August this year on an undisclosed. ST cash safe. Double-fucking-ker-fucking-ching!*

*ps: I am not suggesting the board are up to anything nefarious, BTW. What I do suspect is that the club is in more guano than is being broadcast, despite £20k clicking the turnstiles

Even the clappiest scenario is that of those who have made a decision, a third aren't renewing. If that's representative of the fan base as a whole, that's around 5000 less ST's. How do the board hope to replace those?

There is a majority (at the moment) of people voting as loyal fans (like I used to be) rather than as customers. Would you give ongoing business to any other business that consistently sells such a poor product?

By telling the Club that you will renew, regardless of their shortcomings on the pitch and in the boardroom, you are confirming that the revenue stream is safe. This is hardly going to act as a spur to improve matters.

People should perhaps be telling the club that the fan base will evaporate to wake them up. That does not preclude those fans renewing anyway once improvement has materialised

I'm really struggling to see how without voting with our feet we can get the message home to the board. McCabe must have had a smug satisfied smile on his face when he found 20000 people frequenting the Lane following the non activity in the transfer market and the almost inevitable result that followed against a solid but ordinary Wigan side.

Do you think that Oyston gives a shit that Blackpools' support is down to around 3k? Like McCabe, he'll sleep soundly at night and instead of counting us sheep, it'll be 'Kerching!'

Correction. That's nearly 60% of fans who are still interested/passionate about the Blades to join this forum. God help what the majority are thinking...:(

But they know whatever we say on here that there will always be a hardcore of renewals. The fact that 40% of these are now saying they won't renew should be realistic enough to open their eyes.

More likely than additional investment I admit. But not enough to stem the losses as well.
Unless there's a cunning plan we aren't aware of, it must have dawned on HRH he's done his money. If he cuts and runs what then?

If we sack another manager, no.

Otherwise, yes.

UTB
Likewise. Over 60 concession and a senior rail card helps. However, the novelty of visiting the likes of Hartlepool, Walsall, Crewe etc is wearing a little thin.

If we're still losing money after not renewing all the expired contracts it's probably time we considered burning down the ground for the insurance money.

I will definitely renew, as always you have to live in hope, lets see what happens in the summer, I know same owd etc, but we should see a new team for next season, NA will be desperate to change the make up of (his) team for next season, you never know.

Exactly - I'm hoping for one of those never-to-be-missed seasons :)

i'm getting bored of football generally if i'm honest. i don't even watch it on tv anymore unless we are on

When the premier league clubs come in for Nigel in the summer. We'll have to give our new manager a warm welcome. . . . .

You really have gone all out to keep the loving for Dan Burn, you even have his avatar now, as well as his tattoo and his name on our white home shirt, good man. :D

That's a sad summary, but quite understandable.

My sons are grown up and live away. Going to United games is a common bond. If they wanted to stop then I wouldn't make the 3 hour round trip anymore. As it stands we love to meet up for a beer, some food and a moan. Unless this changes, I'll be there, even when we get dragged down to the 4th.

What a fucking mug I am.

A mug you definitely are mate but rest assured you are in very good company every other Saturday. Drives us all fucking metal but what can you do when it's in the blood.
I'll be there with my other half, daughter and her boyfriend. If I've got suffer watching the drivel united serve up then they can bloody well suffer with me!
